Introduction
Introduction to the case study
The report deals with the case of the International Charity Foundation and discussion
about the development of the information system for the organization. I have been appointed
as the software consultant and I have been assigned with the task for the system analysis and
design for the Global Business Systems development for the organization (Laudon and
Laudon 2016). I have been also assigned with the responsibility to plan and manage the
project and also additionally investigate and document the procedures.
Project Objectives
The main objective of the project is developing a Global Business System for increase
in the efficiency of the organization.
Aims of the Report
The main aims of the report are:
 To provide a thorough analysis of the project.
 To provided efficient insights on the choices made for the development of the project.
Tasks1: Approach to Systems Development
System Development Approach
The Agile model is adopted for the development of the project as the project is a
linear one and the phase of the waterfall model would be very appropriate for the
development of the project. The main phases of the Agile model are; conceptualization phase
where the main requirements of the project are gathered and the schedule and budget
allocations for the project are done in this phase (Horita etal. 2015). The project inception
phase where the design implementation, database implementation and the back end

integration of the project are done. After the implementation has been the iteration phase
comes up and the software is updated accordingly to resolve the glitches in the developed
tool. Additionally, the phase is continued until the absolute result is obtained. Also the project
Production phase is to be completed before the completion of the project and all the project
deliverables are to be handed over to the clients. In addition to this, the project retirement
phase is to be conducted where the people for the maintenance and the schedule for the
project is to be decided.
Justification
The selection of the Agile model for the project is suitable as the main criteria for this
project is the satisfaction of the customers hence the procedures o in the project requires
iterations and also the schedule and the budget of the project has been decided from earlier
and this justifies the selection for the adoption of the development method for the project.
Task 2: System Requirements
Functional Requirements
The main functional requirement of the organization:
 To record the details of all the business and the financial procedures of the
organization.
 The system should be able to make an efficient analysis of all the cash inflows and the
outflows of the business of the organization.
 The system should also be able to store the details of the latest made by the
organization and also keep a track of the employees in the organizations.
 The system should also be able to provide an efficient registration and login options
for the staffs and administrator to maintain and manage all the details regarding the
business of the organization.

Non-Functional Requirements
The main non-functional requirements of the system are provided below:
 Data integrity: It is very important that the data storage options include an efficient
security system that would help the organization in maintain the data integrity and
help them in the future.
 Availability: The system should be available 24x7 so that the processes of the
business for the organization is not halted and the responses to the client are done
regularly.
Justification of the non-functional requirements
For the justification of the non-functional requirements to be supported by the global
business system of the organization data integrity is a very important feature of the system as
the data that is being stored in the system is very important and also the procedures of the
organization are very important so the response time and the availability of the system is very
critical for the organization.
Task 3: Project Cost Benefit Analysis
Discussion
The total cost for the project is to be estimated at around $250,000. In addition to this,
the annual expenses of the project for the maintenance from the next year is around $7,200
per year and in addition to this, the organization would also earn around $10800 per year with
the net benefit increasing by around $1000 per year.

The work breakdown structure of the project is provided below:
Justification of the work breakdown structure
The work breakdown structure is created according to the requirement of the project
and the schedule. In addition to this, the work breakdown structure would help the personnel
involved in the project to work in the project accordingly (Liu et al. 2016). The schedule of
the project indicates that the project can be completed within a very short time of 35 days.
This is very feasible as the project would not be requiring a huge amount of time and the
organization would be able to reap benefits from it in as early as around 40 days.

Task 5: System Information Requirement Investigation Techniques
Stakeholders Involved
The main stakeholders involved in the project are the project manager, the system
engineer, the database developer, the back end coder, the front end developer and the
software tester. In addition to this, there are other internal stakeholders which are to be
included in the stakeholder analysis are the customers, staffs and the sponsors for the
organization.
Investigation techniques to be used
Investigation techniques are very important for the project developer as this would
provide them with the possible recommendations and insights for the further development of
the system. There is various type of investigation techniques that can be used for the project
are interviews, questionnaires and the feedback system which would help the developer to
increase the efficiency of the project to a great extent.
Usefulness of the investigation techniques
Interviews: The interview sessions are generally held in a one to one session where the
technique is used for the gaining Important information about the project and the procedures
and the functions which are to be incorporated within the project. The functional
requirements would be provided from this process.
Questionnaire: The questionnaire is a process which is basically required for the upgradation
and the testing period. The stakeholders would be providing an important insight on the
downsides of the project and help in the improvement efficiently.
Feedbacks: The Feedbacks are very important as the this would help the developer in
rectification of the systems and help in the improvement to a great effect.

Reflections and Conclusions
Summarization of the findings
For conclusion it can be said that the report has been able to provide the analysis of
the of the project for the International Charity Foundation and discussion about the
development of the information system for the organization. The schedule, budget
considerations and the work breakdown structure of the project has been provided in this
report. The information about the analysis and different type of description has been provided
in this report.
Reflection
I have been able to gain efficient knowledge on project management and software
development techniques after the completion of this project report and this assignment would
help me a great deal in my future endeavours.
