Presentation
AI Summary
This presentation proposes a rostering information system designed to address challenges faced by a non-profit organization in managing volunteers and students. The system aims to streamline rostering, track activities, and generate time sheets for volunteers, enhancing efficiency and control over trips. It outlines functional requirements like automated time sheet generation and trip member tracking, along with non-functional requirements such as flexibility and data security. The proposed system offers short-term and long-term benefits, including increased efficiency and improved activity tracking. The presentation also includes a time plan for implementation, estimating a three-month project timeline. The system's core function is to evaluate student and volunteer work, calculate activities and trips, and provide appropriate benefits, ensuring a user-friendly and secure environment. The presentation is a response to an ISYS225 assignment, where the student acted as a system analyst to propose a solution to a real-world business problem.

1INFORMATION SYSTEM
Slide 1: Problem description and the proposed IS
The information system that is needed here is rostering information system. This system
will help in preparing proper list of students and volunteers who will be responsible for
managing the clients. The main challenge faced is with preparing the roster and marking the
volunteers and students. The roster information system will provide better support towards the
organization as it will ensure better way of managing the members. The system will ensure that
each data is maintained within the system and the system is able to provide the results based on
the needs.
Slide 2: Capabilities of Rostering information system
The roster information system will be able to organize the activities. The information
system will generate alerts once the batch is full of members. Registration will be allowed only
when there is enough space. The roster will also keep track of the activities performed by the
students. This will help in managing the trips by the volunteers. The activities and hours worked
by the volunteers will be noted within the system. This will be further prepared as a spreadsheet
based on which rewards will be generated.
Slide 3: Short term and long term Benefits
The major benefits that will be offered with the use of this roster information system is
that it will increase the efficiency. Tracking the activities will become easy and the roster will
ensure better control over the trip. The volunteer needs to offer with benefits if they work more
hours. The main functional attributes that will be offered with the proposed information system
is that it will generate the time sheet and will calculate each trip members so that the trip

bookings can be closed when members are filled. The nonfunctional requirement of the
developed information system is that it will ensure a better way of managing the time and will
offer great flexibility.
Slide 4: Functional and nonfunctional requirements of the IS
The main aim behind implementing the roster information system is to ensure that all the
data of students and volunteer works are being evaluated successfully. The roster information
system will be beneficial for the organization as it will help in calculating the number of
activities and trips completed by the students. This will help in creating a system that will be able
to calculate all necessary needs of the students and will provide proper benefits towards them.
There is a huge need to have proper track of the trips completed by the students so that the time
sheet can be prepared effectively. The time sheet will be generated automatically by the rostering
information system based on which rewards will be provided towards the students and volunteers
respectively. The system proposed will be accessible on user needs and can ensure better
flexibility throughout the performance. In addition to this the system will also offer better range
of security towards the data that is stored within the system. The system will generate time sheet
and will also generate details of trip and will evaluate whether the trip if filled with members or
not.
Slide 5: Time plan
The organization aims at providing huge facilities towards by ensuring that short term
and flexible care is provided towards the patients. This also ensures that entry level support is
provided towards the patient by enhancing the facilities. Thus implementation of roster system

needs to be done effectively within time so that it can ensure better performance. The time plan
that is expected for executing the project is expected to be in 3 months. The phases that are
associated with implementing roster system includes planning for thee system, initiating the
phases, designing the system and analyzing the performance.
