Information system
The businesses have many uses for information systems that increase business process efficiency,
decision making and profitability the three ways that the information are applied in the businesses of
different sizes to impact the business scenario are as follows.
Management information system- the management information system is the use of the information
systems with biggest impact on the business processes and decision making which helps in the process
by providing business data. The past and current data not only of the business performance but the
industry in general therefore help in the tactical, competitive and strategic planning and test the viability
and success rate of the decision beforehand using simulation created from stores data of past (Galliers &
Leidner2014).
Executive support system -executive support system is another more specialized use of the business
data which uses the past information of the industry and the different trends that facilitated success of
the different past business decisions. This helps to analyze the current industry trends and help in the
executive decision-making process regarding business operations. This system makes the availability of
data on past decisions and their success and failure factors. The same is true for completive strategy
which helps the executives form specific completive strategies by making sure that there is usually data
available to help support a possible decision in an industry specific manner. The business performance
data provided by the system therefore help executives by making them aware of the customer needs
understood from past and current data of the market sector.
Transaction processing system- the role of the transaction processing system is one of most common of
the information system usage in business. This keeps track of the day to day financial activities of
business and centralizes the operations of billing, payroll and ordering which in term helps in keeping
track of the activities and helps reduce confusion in the system which makes the process of the financial
accounting much easier as the data are more readily available and more coordinated.
These three usages of the information system therefore are helping the businesses of different sizes in
their business processes and transforming the business process in terms of efficiency and information
availability.

Telecommunication system
The telecommunication system consists of the use of the technology for the transfer of information
through the use of technology between different business mechanisms for the purpose of coordination
and assimilation of the information. This includes mainly the electronic means of transferring data
through cables or wireless networks. This process, while improving business communication greatly has
some risks so proper security measures are necessary for using the system.
Authentication or system access management - the authentication is the most basic and the first step of
the information and telecommunication security which allows only the authorize personnel to access to
the network and data and secures the system from data and system exploitation. The authentication is
based on the specific levels o f security based on the sensitivity of the information that form various
levels of access that can be accessed by employees with specific privileges like rank or experience
(Peltier, 2016). This can start from password in basic levels to biometrics in higher levels of management
information.
Data backup- data backup is another security measures that protects the exploitation of the loss of data
in telecommunication systems by backing up the data in more than one location which makes the
system less vulnerable to data theft and data loss that can affect business adversely.
Confidentiality agreement- these agreements are a part of reactive security measures to mitigate human
element related security risks that allow for the company to hold the person using responsible for the
security liable for it. It also allows the addition preventive measures like using of personal electronic
devices on the office premises (Ahmad, Maynard & Park, 2014).
Dimensions of information systems
The organizational process description are based on the different priorities and are easily
distinguishable.
The organizational dimensions of the information systems include hierarchy and the processes which are
divided based on the level of responsibility and access to information systems. This includes the
different levels of access to the system and limitation and regulation of the access. This also takes the
cultural and other factors like industry specific standards and regulations into consideration.

The management aspect of the information system consists of the different usages of the information
systems and their specific benefits like the strategic decision making, operational efficiency issues and
product design which make the company able to use the resources to the full extent and gain the most
out of a fixed amount of resources. The technology aspect contains the different parts of the system like
database management, security along with hardware and software specifications.
