Executive Summary
The report is dealing with Latureae Company, a healthcare company that is offering both
wellness and healthcare services to the people of Australia. The Latureae business model has
been making use of both primary and secondary activities to conduct its business. This company
has been making use of six categories including Jawbone, Flatiron Health, Healthline, health
catalyst, MedCPU and home team. The primary activities include the Jawbone, HealthLine and
Flatiron Health. However, the secondary activities have been health catalyst and MedCPU and

Introduction
Latureae is an Australian based healthcare company, which is providing healthcare,
wellness services since its establishment in 2000. This company makes products and services to
improve the health of people after carrying out the through expertise in minerals, nutrients and
vitamins. The main corporate customers of this company include specialist health food stores,
supermarkets and so on. This report is dealing with information systems critical analysis. The
report is based on the case study of Latureae briefing document. The purpose of this assignment
is to highlight how Latureae is conducting its business by using the business model of Lautureae.
At first, the brief overview of Latureae, a healthcare organization in Australia is
elucidated. For each primary and secondary activity, the sub-activities that create value, they are
mentioned in this assignment. The models, such as Latureae business model and Porter's value
chain model are discussed in this assignment. The Value chain model is used to do the
identification of main activities and sub-activities.

Latureae, a health and wellness company, which is striving to bring wellness into the
lies of every person, is offering healthcare services in Australia. This company had started its
operations since 2000. This company serves the health facilities to customers; it has national
distribution, manufacturing, advisory department (Smart & Banduchi, 2018). This company had
has a strong culture for customer engagement and education and so it is well placed to give
services of health in a natural approach. The health services that are mainly given by this
company after doing in-depth expertise in minerals, herbs, nutrients, and vitamins. The main
objectives of this company are to be a leader in the healthcare market of Australia, do
maintenance of employee skills levels, contribution to sustainable development. In addition, this
company aims to maintain its competitive advantage just by enhancing its market share.

this company. In order to solve this issue, a new employee assistance program is decided to be
done so that the reduction of 25% of employee turnover can be done in this Australian-based

There are many primary and secondary activities in Latureae business model. This healthcare
company is not confined in doing just one sort of services to its customers. This company sells
wearables and biosensing devices to its customers, which detect biometrics particularly always.
The higher authorities and doctors of this healthcare company for offering health services for
different reasons, such as Jawbone, have created these devices. Out of $202 million, $165
million was acquired by Latureae organization in the first quarter of 2016. It is one of the
categories of this company and there are other categories that had contributed to its development
in 2016 and at present. The analytics of big data is the second category of Latureae and this
category is mainly used for supporting a wide range of cases related to health (Smart &
Banduchi, 2018). The department of the company providing big data services belongs to Flatiron
Health and it acquired $175 million out of $200 million in 2016 in the first quarter. The third
category of this company is health catalyst and it deals with population and health management.

The Latureae business model has 6 categories, which its activities and sub-activities
that create its value. The six categories incorporate Jawbone, Flatiron Health, Health catalyst,

the Jawbone (wearables and biosensing), Flatiron Health (analytics or big data) and HealthLine
(consumer health information) are the primary activities in which both higher authorities,

hand, this company has been contributing to business activities and new methods in case of
secondary activities, such as health catalyst (population health management). In addition,

per week. This company currently has 2000 suppliers (Bianchi, 2017).

Amongst the three secondary activities, the two categories, such as health catalyst
and MedCPU incorporate some sub-activities, which contributed in 2016 $70 million and $35
million. The sub-activity of using better delivery tools for managing the health of the entire
population of Australia is related to health catalyst (Akhtar, Khan, Frynas, Tse & Rao-Nicholson,
2017). In addition, sub-activity of making use of electronic health records is done for supporting
augmentation (Vom Brocke, Petry & Gonser, 2016). The value-creating activity linked with sub-
activity of utilization of better delivery tools for handling health of the entire population is
updating the tools, giving training to employees to use them effectively. The value-creating

Porter's value chain model
The porter's value chain model consists of 9 steps and they are inbound logistics,
operations, outbound logistics, marketing and sales, service, procurement, technology
development. In addition, other factors include human resource development and firm
infrastructure (Marufu & van der Merwe, 2019). The major activities that are included in the
Latureae business model include major and sub-activities. The main activities are to do the
manufacturing and selling of biosensing and wearables model for customers and to make use of
data aggregation techniques to do better handling of healthcare cases. These main activities assist
Latureae Company to do good handling of marketing, inbound logistics, outbound logistics and
so on. The patients get the necessary amount of care from the health professionals and staffs of
the company. Due to this reason, this company had been expanding over the years. However, the
employee turnover rate had been a problem for this company, which is not solved. This company
is mainly focusing on the consumers and ways to enhance profitability, customer base, however,
less attention is given to the needs of the employees.
The sub-activities include the use of delivery tools for managing the health of
populations and the use of electronic health records (Grace, Gleasure, Finnegan & Butler, 2019).

The recommendations are:
a) The best way to manage the employees working in major and sub-activities of Latureae
Company can lower the employee turnover rate in future years. Due to this reason, this company
can perform perfectly.

b) The recruitment of IT technicians should be done so that they can save the network of this
company from dangerous hackers. They can improve the existing network of Latureae Company
so that major hacking incidents do not happen in this company in the future.
Conclusion
This assignment is dealing with information systems critical analysis with respect to
the case study of Latureae Company, a healthcare company in Australia. This company has been
able to make better use of information systems by making use of electronic health records, data
aggregation, biosensing devices and so on to attract customers. However, hacking issues and
employee turnover can hamper this company and so by meeting the demands of customers and
