EXECUTIVE SUMMARY This report will focus on the advancement of information technology that is being therein the business. In order to conduct any business the various different types of informationtechnology is sued being used. In this report the emphasis will be made on the role of big data inthe business in order to gather the different types of data and information. Also, this report willpresent the use of cloud computing in the business and what all are the advantages that will begained by the business due to use of this information technology. Further more this report willalso focus on the use of information technology such as mobile digital platform to maximize theprofit at workplace.INTRODUCTIONToday the way of operations of business have gone through a major change more andmore business firms are making use of information technology in their business in order to storethe data and information in a better way and also to maximize the profit with the use of thisinformation technology (Petter, DeLone and McLean, 2013.). This information system will helpthe business to organize and analyse the data. The goal of information system is convert the rawdata into useful information which can be utilized for decision-making in the organization. Thevarious information system such as big data, cloud computing etc are being used the organizationin order to store, collect and gather the data.The role of big data in the business The large volume of data is described by making use of the term big data. Both structured andnon-structured data is being presented by the big data. Through various means a large chunk ofraw material can be collected, stored and analysed by the organization that will help them toincrease their efficiency and also the better decision will be made in the workplace. In bothforms that is structured and unstructured the big data can be. In the database the structured data ismore easily analysed and organized (Tsang, 2014.). However on the other hand the unstructureddata is not so easy to analyse and it can also be used in a variety of formats. By the traditionaldata models and process it is also not so easily interpreted. For most of the companies theconcept of big data is not new. However, more and more companies whether small or large aremaking use of big data in their business and in order to gain more information to better supporttheir company and serve their customers the big data related approaches are also being used.1
