INTRODUCTIONInformation system management is the computerized database which managed thefinancial information of the organization in such a way that it generates regular reports on everymanagement level of the structure. The prime focus is to handle the feedbacks which are abouttheir own individual performance of the company. The board of directors or the top levelmanagement will be able to monitor the organization as a single unit. The internet of things canalso be referred as the inter-networking of the physical devices, which is used to connect people,data, things and processes to transform the life of an individual. This assignment contains theliterature review on the understanding of internet of things in the industrial sector. The reflectionis also done for knowing the learning and practices which are used in completing this module. 1. LITERATURE REVIEWGubbi and et.al (2013) stated that internet of things is useful in creating the vision,architectural elements and giving future direction to the industrial sector. It is having the abilityto measure and understand the environmental factors by using delegate technologies and naturalresources. According to him, the main advantage of the internet of things is to store the moredata. The information will be more, so the decision making process will be very easy. Theindustrial sector will get benefit from this because it will be easy for them to select the rightmethod which can give the best outcome. It makes tracking very easy. The computers will beable to keep the track of all the processes majorly focusing on quality of the products andviability of the services offered by this sector. He mentioned one more thing which is related to saving the time. Internet of things willsave the monitoring time. The best advantage is in context with the financial aspect as thistechnology will replace humans, which are taking care of monitoring facilities. Thus, it will behelpful for the industrial sector to maintain the supplies. The organizations like IBM is gettingadvantage in context with their connectivity system and services which can go beyond machineto machine. It is helpful in gathering the information by using existing technologies and passesthe data without any disturbance to other devices. According to Yang (2013), the internet of things can also be termed as internet of objectsor some cyber physical system, which will be used in connecting various objects in day to daylife. It uses different wireless connections to connect the objects so that the goal of the sector canbe reached. Vast range of application have been developed by using internet of things. The1
human resource is getting affected the most by this because this is eliminating the involvementof the human in the processes of the company. At one time it is helping in improving the qualityof the products and services but on other hand it is reducing the human to human interaction andconnection. This can be sometimes act against the industrial sector. Internet of things willdefinitely dominate the budget and mindset of the people as well as it will boost up thetechnologies. Cui (2016) stated that internet of things is also having the device which is a stand-aloneinternet connected device used to control or monitor the activities from different locations or anyremote location. They are having the entities which includes the consumers, business andgovernments. It is having the physical layer which are the hardware used to make the device. Itincludes the sensor or some networking gear. The prime focus of the organization is to maintainthe culture and structure of the organization so that their employees will work more freely. It isaffecting the daily life by affecting the transport services and reducing the pollution and wastemanagement from the organization. But Xu, He and Li are strongly disagreed about the advantages caused by internet ofthings. According to them, the complexity is very high in this system. Therefore, chances offailure are more. The messages received by the other person may not be accurate which willcreate wrong marketing plan. The system is compatible, because there is no such standardtagging and monitoring system. The major big issue is related to privacy. The security is notthere and the data can be lost sometimes which will create problem for the industrial sector. Thefinal problem is safety. There are always some chances that the software can be hacked and theinformation can be misused by the other person. The account can be hacked of any individualwhich will put his relevant information at high risk. Stankovic (2014) showed that even though, there are some disadvantages but the majoradvantage is that internet of things is saving the time of the consumers as well as the money.There are continuous efforts being made so that the defects can be overcome. In no time, internetof things will be seen in almost all the sectors present in the entire industry world. The evolutionof internet of things is driving four major trends, which are; the shift to data enabling services,the transformation of value chain management to consumer centric or product centricapproaches.
