Homework Assignment
AI Summary
This assignment solution addresses key concepts in Information Technology, including the distinction between volatile and nonvolatile memory, with examples like RAM and ROM. It explores data communication, comparing twisted pair and coaxial cables with fiber optic cables, and mentions the role of radio and infrared. Furthermore, the assignment highlights the benefits of video conferencing, such as improved employee communication, better management direction, employee retention, and work-life balance. The solution references research papers on these topics to support its analysis, providing a comprehensive overview of essential IT principles and their practical applications.

Question 1
Why is the difference between volatile and nonvolatile memory?
Answer 1
Volatile memory can be considered as the memory in which the information that is present in the
memory is lost when the power is turned off. The best example of the Volatile memory is RAM.
This is the memory that does not store the content permanently. On the other hand, it can be
stated that Nonvolatile memory is not loss in the case of power failure and also at the time of
turning the system. The best example of this is ROM as in this the content is stored permanently
(Ríos et al., 2015).
Question 2
Which medium enable the data communication?
Answer 2
It can be stated that both twisted pair cable and coaxial cable can offer the data rates of between
1 to 1000 Mbps also the Fiber optic cable ranges between 100 Mbps and 10 Gbps. It can be
stated that radio and infrared also offer the 1 to 50 Mbps as the microwave and satellite. So, it
can be stated that these are the cables that maximize the overall speed in terms of data
communication (Rajbhandari et al., 2015).
Question 3
Benefits of video conferencing
Answer 3
There are various benefits that can be taken into consideration in terms of video conferencing.
With the help of video conferencing it could be easy to boost the communication process
between the employees and also with the higher authorities. It can be seen that video

conferencing can help the management to offer the right direction to the employees so that it
could be easy for them to manage the activities in an effective manner. Employee retention is the
next option that can help the companies in maintaining the relations of the employees. It is
examined that mobility is offered by the cloud based video conferencing that also contribute
towards the employee retention. Less travel can allow maintaining the work life balance among
the employees (Karis, Wildman and Mané, 2016).
