INTRODUCTION It is essential to select an appropriate referencing style and do citations accordingly. Thisis because if citations are done in wrong way then it can lead to poor impression (Wagner,Beimborn and Weitzel, 2014). In order to prepare budget, MS excel is used as it is developed forfinancial purpose. In MS power point many types of presentation are developed. This assignmentwill describe how to do different types of reference and cite them properly. Also, it will discussabout how budget is developed by using MS excel. In last assessment it is explained about howMS power point is used to design presentation. ASSESSMENT 1In a report it is very important to do references as per its structure. It gives a proof thatsources taken are authentic and helps in giving proof of report or research. The user shouldidentify what type of references are required. It is because there are different referencing stylesthat are available such as Harvard, APA, IEEE, etc. apart from this, Harvard referring is also ofdifferent types. So, it can create confusion within user that what type of Harvard refereeing isdone. The citations in it also varies as per type of Harvard style (Avgerou and Walsham, 2017).Therefore, it is very necessary to identify which style is required in report. Moreover, each styleis having its own unique citation technique. it depends on which type of referencing is used byresearcher. There are many other things which is different in Harvard referencing such asformatting style, article number, page number, etc. there are several guidelines which is followedin this. They are discussed below :- In text citations contains the author name or surname, year of publication and pagenumber. For example – Smith (2016, p. 32) here p refers to page no. and pp means rangeof pages. When there are two or more than two authors then all names and surname are written. Forexample – Jones, Adam and Thomas (2015, p. 87)When four or more than four are there then surname ae replaced with ‘et.al’ . Example –Nathan and et.al (2014, p. 90)In similar way books, journals and articles are referenced and citations are done. It makes it easyfor user to differentiate between article, journal and book. 1

To cite website or online reference in Harvard there is different style which is followed. It can beexplained as below :- The basic format to cite a website is Author name, initial, year of publishing, title of page/site [online] Available through : <URL>Now in order to cite an image or picture there is another style which is followed. Here,citation is done below image caption. The format is :- Source: (Author name, year of publication)Below is an example given in which it described how Harvard and other citation differsfrom each other. Furthermore, sources taken in it differs as well (Chuang and Huang, 2018).Therefore, it is necessary to identify reference type and do citations accordingly. It is necessaryto do proper formatting of Harvard reference as well as citations. Without proper formatting itresults in deduction in marks. There are some guidelines for formatting which is explained as:- To remove coma before and after the number written after journal name. Also, that number has to be removed from Italics. Putting et.al. if there are more than names of three authors. Sorting references in alphabetical way. Deciding the range of referenced before taking it. this means to enter year range andtaking recent references. For example- generally, sources are taken from year 2014 to2017.
