INTRODUCTION
In this report, the use of Informational Technology with reference to business is
discussed. The use of Microsoft Word, Spreadsheet and power point with reference to business
use is also discussed. There are three assessments in which use of Microsoft word, Spreadsheet
and power point is discussed.
TASK1
Use of Referencing and Citation correctly.
In this task, the use of referencing and citation is going to discuss. The references should
be used with proper formatting of the word document. If there is a quote of a writer which is
used in word document, then this quote should be cited to the writer of that particularly. When
paraphrase and quotes are used in paper then they should be cited with the original source of
information. If it not happened, the reader will assume that the information provided will belong
to the writer. This gives wrong information to the reader. In writing a content, the information
provided to the reader should be legal and true to the knowledge of the writer. A proper citation
gives credit to the writer and thus it gives evidence to the reader to support the argument
provided in the content. Having good citation, gives the reader ability to further add more
content to the file. There are three types of referencing style which a writer should follow: MLA
and Chicago citation help, APA and Turabian citation help and in the end Harvard citation help
(Gelbmann, 2015.). To write proper citation and referencing, there are three ways through which
one can write proper referencing.
Gathering information about the sources
This is the first method of applying a proper citation. This method includes some
techniques to write proper citation which are stated below: Determination of the citation style:
There are many citation styles used to cite a source in different fields. The style
which should be used in citation depends on demand of the instructor. There are different
styles but most common are Modern Language Association (MLA), American
Psychological Association (APA) and the Chicago style (Grembergen, 2018). Each style
have different guidelines of citation. Determination of the author and title of each source:

have different guidelines of citation. Determination of the author and title of each source:
For every single source of item the name of the author and writer should be
written. If there are multiple writers then they should be written in the same order as
they appear on the title page of the book. Publication information should be written:
The date on which the source is published should also be written in the citation
process. For doing this information about the source such as edition, volume or issue is
also required.
Copying of URL:
For online referencing Unified Resource Locator should be copied. This URL
shows the information about the website through which the information is taken. Along
with the URL the source date should also be written in the file (Andrews, 2018).
Placing in-text citation
In this citation technique, citation is given at the end of the text written. The citation
should be given at the end of paraphrased or quoted material. Parenthetical citation comes before
the closing of sentence. Use of author-date parenthetical citation in APA.
In this type of citation technique, name of the author should be written within the
parenthesis. After writing the name of author, a comma should be places and followed by
the year in which the information was published.
Inserting footnotes:
Same information as the full bibliographic citation is included in footnote which
is used by Chicago style. A superscript number should be placed at the end of the
sentence.
Author's name and page number should be included.
Parenthetical citation is used by MLA in the work body. Author's name and the
page number appears mostly where the material appears.
Writing a Reference Entry Starting name of author
In almost all referencing style the last name of the author should be written at the
reference entry. If authors are multiple, they can be arranged according to the reference
entry.

Providing year of publication
For APA styles, the year should be placed in parenthesis after the name of the
author. In spite of that, for some sources such as magazines and newspapers requires a
specific date. For this, year should be typed and followed by comma and then month and
date should be written on the day when article was published (Jeston, 2014.).
Title of the source:
The way in which title of the source should be written is depends upon the
citation style which is used. Sources such as magazines and journal items, are placed in
quotes. Publication information of the source should be included:
This information include the name of the publisher, the place from where the
source was published and the year in which source was published. This format of citation
depends upon different citation styles (Ptak, 2016.).

This software also found in Microsoft Office. It is used to represent the data in an
attractive form. It can use data animation and sound clips too. Power point is the mixture of
slides, handouts, speaker notes, media clips, object chart etc. The data presented in power point
is in the form of slides. Information used in these slides should be short and complete so that it
can provide all the necessary information. There are many features of MS power point such as:
Slides:
It is a part of presentation. It can include text, object and graphics with animation &
sound which can be presented on screen.
Handouts:
It is the printout of presentation in which a page can include many slides. This is given to
the listeners mainly which include the content of slides, name of the company, date and name of
the speaker.
Auto-content wizard
It helps user to change the screen step by step where user gives his inputs. As required,
different views can be used to change the view such as slide sorter view, slide show view,
Outline view, normal view, slide view. Slide view is the default view. Outline view includes text
and title and neither it shows objects and charts nor they can be included in it. Slide sorter view
shows the slides in which they should be shown at the time of presentation.
Design template
It includes the template which can be used by the user. These are pre formatted i.e. they
are already prepared.
