Assessment 001Report on Correct use of Harvard references.Correct use of references is important while producing report, papers and theses. It helpsin avoiding plagiarism and prevent students from cheating. References are considered as animportant term in academic world. Incorrect use of references can create huge consequences forthe students in the form of plagiarism, as it is considered under serious offense (Hanna, Dufloand Greenstone, 2016). This report is based on the correct use of Harvard references byguidelines of the University of Sundarland. In the present report various types of references willbe explained with their proper steps. Through this method plagiarism and cheating can bereduced at great extend. Along with this helps in maintaining quality of the report. In Harvard references system, the process is distributed into two levels first is in textingor citation and another is creating references.Citation This is considered as a essential documentation step through which report is convertedinto its acceptable form. It the work of one person is considered into another task in that caseincluding quotes are considered as an essentials step. Incorporating citation in work is consideredas good practice. In Harvard references style citation contains details of authors including theyear in which work was done. Following are the citation style that are provided by the universityof Sunderland: How to use citation in Harvard style.There are certain set of rules are provided for writing proper citations. In this process thename of author is placed into the bracket along with the producing year. The in texting can bedone at the beginning, ending or middle of the statement. In this process name of one, two ormultiple editors can be placed, during this process certain changes in formatting takes place(Example of Harver references. 2017).In texting of one author: In single author citation, name of the writer is places into thebracket along with the year in which work was done. The university of Sutherland hasprovided various guidelines for proper and effective referencing for books, journals andonline references. For instance citation for single author is done like (Henderson, 2005 ).or Henderson (2005). Both the approaches are considered for one author in texting. 1
