Question 1: Advantages and disadvantages of object-oriented
database
Advantages
There are various advantages of object-oriented database which are
described below:
 Enhanced the modelling abilities of the system
 Extensibility
 It has the ability to maintain large numbers of data types
 Removal of impedance mismatch
 Improved performance (Dba Oracle, 2015).
Disadvantages
There are following drawbacks of the object-oriented database:
 Lack of universal data model
 Lack of skills
 Lack of standards
 More complex
 More expansive
 Lack of security and privacy of data
Question 2: Datamarts
The term data mart is defined as the structure of data which is used to
retrieve consumers facing data and it is mainly oriented to a particular
business line. Such kind of process is designed to serve a specific
community of experienced employees and it also enables consumers to
retrieve information from a unique department (GURU99, 2018). It is
observed that data marts differ from the data warehouses because it
needs less space which makes them more easy to search and run in the
system. Moreover, as compared with the data warehouses, a data mart is
a more effective and appropriate process for organizations.
