8: Identify how

The main topic of this unit was “Identify how PM application
systems can assist project managers to monitor performance
and manage changes within the project”. As per the
requirements, I analysed PM application systems can be
realistically be adjusted and used to assist the project managers
during the course of project to solve complex problems.
I learnt in this course about the details of PM application systems
and their relevant usage within a particular project. I learned
that it is absolutely essential for the project managers to monitor
performance of a project in order to ensure the project does not
move in the wrong direction. Moreover, it is also important to
manage changes that are being implemented to ensure the
project is moved back to the right path. In this regard, I learned
how project management application systems are applied to
perform these activities.
After proper research I came to the conclusion about the
different tasks that the PM performs apart from providing
assistance to the project, program and portfolio management
systems are listed below.
PMs also help in the development of the project plan and
schedule to have the project completed within the deadline, and
successfully too. The PPPM applications are also responsible for
suggesting the system with the resources required which may
prove to be important for the completion of the project within
the given time. PM engages all the team members of the project
and also assists in the measurement of the abilities of each and

The guiding of the project into the right direction is something
else done by a PM. This function is achieved through the
communication of the objectives of the project, overseeing the
project progress and through the regulation of resources on the
basis of priority of its requirement to a project. Another task that
is performed by the PM is making the appropriate application of
the tools associated with the management of the project and the
techniques to result it into the effective management of all the
aspects of the management of the project.

9. Propose

successful project
execution in
different
industries.
In this unit, I needed to conduct industry studies to understand
the application of project application systems in enhancement of
industry projects that are currently using various project
execution techniques. I learned in this week about various PM
application systems that are being used by project managers in
large scale industrial projects in order to ensure the project is
executed successfully. In this case, I understood that these
projects are highly complex in nature and in order to manage
successful execution of these projects, it is required to deploy a
specific and efficient project management system with
appropriately defined time, budget, deliverables, stakeholder
roles, work packages and others.
The further learnings that I received include information about a
communication application named Monday.com. It helps the
PPPM by performing synchronisation between the information
and the team members, together decisions can be taken, and
also factoring regarding the other parameters is done. Another
application that I learned about is Clarizen, another famous
application, usage of which is done in the project in the
managements of real time, portfolio and program. The adoption

In order to conclude week 8, I was needed to study and discuss
contemporary developments in the use of project, program and
portfolio (PPPM) application systems. In addition to learning the
final notes on the various topics, I also needed to reflect upon
the various topics that I learned throughout the course of this
module.
Overall, this unit provided me with a lot of knowledge as well as
complex problem skills manually or with appropriate application
of software and other tools that were included within the
module. I learnt not only the lessons but also personal
development that will me in my future professional career.
The field regarding the application systems of project, program
and portfolio, technology is considered to be synchronization
between ideation and revolution. This synchronization is an
approach towards the development of different aspects in the
field of software industry. In any organization, considerable
amount of developments of PPPM of the recent time period the
improvement in the controlling and planning of any particular
project is done by the involvement of the application systems. A
lot of evidences are found that the occurrence of the
development in the PPPM applications is seen in recent times.
Out of all those development events, few of them has been
considered for further discussion.
