After the successful investigation of Brisbane’s New Runway project it
has been noticed that the fundamental objective of this project is to implement
a modified airport which has strategic direction as well as this project wants to
set the future prognostication in order to increase the passenger rate of the
Airlines. Along with this the project developer wants to implement the airport
site in such way which can be additionally used by the users. In order to make a
feasible airport runway the developer has opted for defining the major future
investments and optimal structure which will surely demonstrate about the
strategies and work process of the approached project.
Followed by the purpose of developing the Brisbane’s new runway
project the investors has invested 1.3 billion. Initially in the year 1971 Australian
government has decided that Brisbane needs a larger area in future order to
establish one of the most connected airport in Australia. The project director
has mentioned that according to 1971’s Brisbane airport development plan was
to align two 36 meter long parallel run ways which will be established 2 kilo
meter away from each other with considering the fact that each run way will be
independent of each other. Another significant aspect which was present in the
1971’s project planning was to developing the parallel runways which will never
cross each other path at any cost. The terminals of two run ways were well
strategies in order to avoid any crash with two different terminal such as
domestic terminal and international terminal to create an effective run way
procedure.
Starting from the 1971 it was a long term process in order to develop
the Brisbane’s new Runway. Thus in a significant impact on the environment
which was handled with care by the environmental assessment team. In the
year 2005 and 2006 the assessment team was totally concerned about the
environmental affects in order to reduce the impact of the project on the
environment. As per the Australian government rules it was necessary to receive

the three level government confirmation in order to start any further
development of the Brisbane Runway. In the year 2007 the development of
runway was again started to implement further development. Brisbane New
Runway project was developed in order to create a highly connected airport for
the passengers. Followed by the above development aspects it is assumed that
the Brisbane new Runway project will release in the year 2020.
Since, this project was significantly large project as well as long term
project it was essential to manage the development process with effective
strategies. From the year 1971 the development process was initiated which
was an effective process. The project manager has maintained the work process
by 2014 master plan which was then approved by the Australian government in
the year 2015. The master plan has followed by the aspect of connecting
Australia with the rest of the world as well as being Proactive, innovative and
flexible. As this project was developed to facilitate the Australian population the
project has high priority towards consulting the project proposal with
Commonwealth Minister for infrastructure and Transport for development.
According to Australian standard code of tendering this project should
follow the codes related to the Brisbane New Runway project. In order to
provide an effective and efficient product the development team should surely
follow the ethics and obligation of the principles of construction and tenders.
The ethics and principles present in the field of developing any project are
equally applicable to all most all the stakeholders of the project which includes
Agents, tenders, suppliers, constructors and their professional associations.

Note: some of these readings are quite long. You are not expected to read
everything, rather to gain an overview and be able to reflect on the material and
case study using your own thoughts.
In this portfolio please reflect on the readings (1st column) and the learning
outcome (2nd column). Ask yourself in what way does the readings provide
insights into the learning outcome? Maybe they don’t! What are your
thoughts?
Are there other insights that you can make from other units that you have
studied? Or your work and life experience?
