RATIONALE:
The Islanders Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders have had a common issue of poor
medication adherence in the past due to adverse health outcomes. After the cataract surgery,
which affected Paul's sight, he experiences blurredness that made it hard for him to identify the
drugs precisely. (Bhatti, & Haq, 2017). This was experienced after his discharge, where he was
to do everything for himself, especially the medication. The fact is, Paul does not adhere to
medical prescriptions. He might experience adverse medical consequences, such as increased
healthcare cost and prehospitalization. Besides, exacerbation and eventually death. If the
medication standards are not maintained, the patients might incur an unpleasant health outcome.
The dosage is prescribed to support the immune system of the body purposefully to overcome
the disease pathogens in the body. Besides, inadequate adherence to medication will hinder the
progress of the health outcomes for the indigenous Australians suffering from chronic infections
(Lindstrom, et al. 2017). Thus it vital to care efficiently about Paul's health condition to improve
his health condition.
Effective communication and provision of efficient and appropriate care by the health
professionals to the Aboriginal people can positively impact on their health conditions. Also,
they should provide holistic and well-equipped healthcare, which is geared towards building a
