INTRODUCTION
Emergencies or casualties management is the set of actions that have laid significant
regulations and plans for controlling emergency situations. The study will cover basic
considerations of suitable acts and services that can be applied to control and manage
disruptions. The study will cover respective topics in the context of Royal Berkshire Hospital of
NHS trust founded in 1867. The report will describe basic laws related to maintain emergencies
and description to public services responsible to handle emergency incidents (Paton and
Johnston, 2017). It will also cover the role played by public services in emergency planning. The
study will also describe considerations related to emergency planning for controlling disruptive
situations.

As per the Civil Contingency act, 2004 there are number of guidelines that need to be
covered in context of public services during emergencies. According to the act, there are in total
three parts that drives the guidelines and rules related to local authorities' to support public
during emergency situations. According to the act there are number of responders specified for
providing each and every emergency services. Bodies such as Police authorities, fire brigade
services, transport authorities and related departments need to be highly active during such
situations. At the time of emergencies, the authorities are required to align their services with
proper risk assessments and emergency planning.
As per the law of Civil contingency, local authorities need to make considerable
arrangements for public during such conditions. Health and safety team need to work along the
utility and transport sectors to successfully a sustainable environment for local communities
(Haddow, Bullockand Coppola, 2017). Royal Berkshire hospital has laid emphasis on various
factors related to the provision of emergency treatments and different healthcare facilities
provide to the victims. It has laid utmost emphasis on proper transport and Ambulatory services
to the communities in such situations.

and level of severity (Guan, Yu and Wilby, 2016). According to the type of emergencies
occurred such as fire accidents, flood, earthquakes and other severe road accidents, the public
services within any hospitals are specified to deliver high support control the situations. For
instance at times of nay natural disaster such as “Earthquakes”, Royal Berkshire hospital has
significant provision for providing medical aids to the victims.

preparedness for the emergencies (Han and Chen, 2017).
Royal Berkshire plays an important role as city response team during earthquake
emergencies and helps to support people by providing medical aids to people. Hospitals are the
first organisations which are to be ready for the emergencies so these organisations play an
important role in emergency planning within the hospital. The hospital has significant plan to
track the status of maximum occupancy within the hospital and how to adjust more patients in
the hospital during earthquake. It has to remain active and available 24/7 for public and for this
purpose it has to manage its shifts and employees timings. It has to assure that all necessary
equipment are available in the hospital if not it has to make the necessary stock available like life

It is the grave responsibility of entire public services to meet the requirements of
emergency planning as it is the public who are going to support the people during emergencies.
Its responsibility is to follow the procedures which are assigned to public services during
emergencies. Public service have to place the proper arrangements in order to make the
information available to public, it is the responsibility of public service to inform and advice
public during the event of emergencies. Public serves have to follow the proper guidelines which
are set in legislation. They have to provide trainings to staff in order to prepare them for any
emergency situations, this will help them serve during emergencies in better ways. So, it is
important for public services to meet the legislative requirements of emergency planning.
CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the report that every organisation have to face emergency situations
at any time, there are various legislations and guidance that are being provided in order to deal
with the emergency incidents. Guidances and legislations can help public service organisations
to deal effectively with the emergency incidents. Present report also concludes that there are
various public services who have got statutory responsibilities which help in planning and
responding to various emergency incidents Public services has to consider various factors which
needs to be addressed by public service organisations while planning emergency situations.
