INTRODUCTION
Cloud computing is the delivery of different computer services via internet. Cloud
computing is the on demand availability of computer system resources, especially data storage
and computing power, without direct active management by the user. The cloud computing
services are divided into 3 categories such as infrastructure service, platform as a service and
software as a service. This present essay will show about the type of cloud and and cloud storage
in current business. . It will also show the difference between privacy & security and the methods
of achieving individual or company's cloud to be private and secured.

According to the Borowiec and Noonan, Pure Storage Inc, 2017, Cloud computing is
simply the delivery of computing services that includes networking, server, storage, software,
analytics over the internet in order to provide and offer flexible resources. Cloud computing has
various benefits such as it completely eliminates the capital expense related to use f remote
resources as well as software and setting up them. Cloud storage is a simply cloud computing
and service model in which companies and person stores data on remote servers that is accessed
from the cloud or internet . The authority and responsibility of maintaining and managing these
services in the hand of cloud storage service provider. In the context of speed, most of the cloud
computing services are provided on demand and self-services, so within a minute’s vast amount
of resources can be provisioned. It gives reliability as all the data and information can be
mirrored at multiple redundant sites so it helps organisations in keeping data safe and back up,
disaster recovery and business activities easier. Cloud computing provide various services that
includes different functions such as: analysing & testing apps, E-mail, analysing data, storage,
backup & data retrieval, video, audio streaming and delivering software on demand.
According to the Rittinghouse and Ransome, 2016, There are mainly 3 types of cloud and
cloud-based storage such as public, private, community and hybrid cloud storage services. On
the basis of services, it offers and provides infrastructure as a service, software as a service and
platform as a service. Private cloud means to use cloud network wholly by only one

individual/customer and am organisation. It is privately owned storage and organisation do not
share with others. In this type of cloud, organisations owns control over the network which helps
in maintain confidentiality of data base. However, this type of cloud with having single owner
control are more expensive. It has the highest security level; company can also save capital by
completely eliminate hardware support contract. On the other hand, public cloud computing has
the same benefits as like private cloud computing, but exist on a remote cloud server. In this type
of cloud. Responsibility and authority of managing data and access is in the hand of cloud
service provider. It is also called storage as a service and the main benefits of this type of service
is, organisations only have to pay only for the actual storage capacity. The other main advantage
of using public cloud is, provider is wholly responsible for maintaining and building the storage
infrastructure. With this, organisations can also eliminate and avoid operational expenses that is
beneficial and good for the small and medium sized organisations (Keat, Rad and Ahmadi,
2017).
According to the Chen and et.al., 2015, Hybrid cloud is a combination of both public and
on premises private cloud services. Organisations that uses hybrid cloud they can use features
and characteristics of both type of cloud service such as it can handle workload bursts with the
help of public cloud and with the help and by private cloud, they can run mission critical
workload. The main aim of companies of using hybrid cloud storage is to create and develop
scalable, automated & unified environment by which it can take advantages of all services and
features that public cloud networks provide and also maintain and control over mission critical
data on private cloud storage. Community cloud is a type of infrastructure and network that is
shared between companies in the context of shared data & data management concerns. For
instance, community cloud may be belonging to a government of a single country. It can also be
located off & on the premises.
All these types and cloud storage has various attractive benefits such as flexibility and
companies can adjust and scale up and down according to the changes and need of storage in
computing needs. By this they can avoid and eliminate the need for massive investments in the
local infrastructure. Companies also have to pay for the storage, resources and workloads which
they use as the facility is being provided of pay per use (Types of cloud computing, 2018.).

The difference between privacy and security and the way of achieving company's cloud to be
private and secured
According to the Wang and et.al., 2015, Privacy can be defined as the ability to keep the
data, things and personally identifiable information from being disclosed. On the other hand,
security means and is concerned with the safety of users on a system. It also refers the personal
freedom from external factors and forces. There is an importance of having the understanding of
privacy, security &safety issues. Both the terms are related but have some differences. Privacy is
somehow related with security as it cannot be achieved without having security but security can
be achieved without having privacy. Security programmes mainly concentrate on all types and
sort of information assets that a company gathers . Whereas, privacy programmes concentrate on
personal information’s like addresses, name of a person, SSN (Social security numbers),
financial account information, etc.
Data security is the ability which protects valuable information and data of an individual
from being disclosed and from prying eyes by safeguarding their documents with the help of
password. Whereas, privacy is all about secrecy and confidentiality of information. The main
aim of security is to safeguard confidential data and information of an individual and
organisation from unauthorized access. It is concerned with integrity, confidentiality &
availability. It impacts on the cyber as well as information security. Whereas, privacy is all about
concerned with the rights if an individual and a company with the respect to personal
information. There are some principles of privacy and security such as the principle of security
includes conserving integrity of information asset, to protect confidentially and to promote
availability of information and data. The principle of privacy is to protect the rights of
individuals and companies in the context of personal information. It can be said that privacy can
be achieved with security initiatives to some extent and security also relies on privacy of
credentials.
According to the Yang and et.al., 2017, A company and an individual can achieve their
cloud and to be secured and private in various ways by which they can tackle problems related to
security and cyber crime . Companies and individuals can avoid storing their sensitive

information and data over the cloud and make themselves fearless and more secure from any
unauthorized access.
According to the Zhang and et.al., 2017, Cloud service providers and renders create and
provide agreements to the customers and organisations in which they include all the rules and
policies in the context of way of processing. So, it is very important for organisations and
individuals to read agreement carefully in order to save their data and themselves secured and
safe.
Now a days all person and organisations are more concerned regarding their privacy and
security and many times companies and individuals get messages like do not share password
with anyone with the main purpose of privacy and security. So, password is the key to access any
type of information and data, hence it is important for companies and individuals to have and
create a strong and authentic password including different characters, numbers etc. The reason of
creating a strong password is to protect data safe that no one even can crack it easily. All these
activities and this step is being used for privacy and security.
The other way of protecting information and cloud to be private and secured is
encryption. It is the best way as it includes various steps as a company need to secure and move
their files to a cloud and for that they require to various and specific software with which they
create password. By creating password for a specific and selected file they need to put that
password protected file to the cloud .
Encrypted cloud services are also other method which is being provided by the cloud in
order to take care of data & files safely that are being stored on cloud and on personal computer.
With the help of this method no one can have chance and option to access their files. Service
renders and administrator also cannot access information.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been concluded that cloud computing and cloud storage play
a vital role in saving and protecting data and business continuation. Further, it outlined different
types of cloud such as private, public and hybrid possess different characteristics and it depend
on the size of the company and decreased their cost. This has also shown the difference between

privacy and security and ways of applying and gaining an organisation's cloud to be secured and
private.
