1. Introduction
This case study is based on Local Farm shop which has decided to provide online
services to the customers so that they can purchase products with the help of a mobile
application. The mobile application designed features the products offered by the Local Farm
shop as well as booking of their restaurant. The Local Farm shop will provide the two major
services to customers that is ordering of products and restaurant booking through their mobile
application. The mobile application will be beneficial for those customers who faces difficulty or
does not have sufficient time to visit physically for purchasing required products or make a
booking of the restaurant. The motive behind designing the mobile application is to expand the
business of Local Farm shop by increasing their customer base with the help of online services.
2. Discussion
Target users
The mobile application for Local Farm Shop has been designed targeting the users of all
age group irrespective of technical skills or knowledge. The mobile application cane be used by
busy persons who do not have spare time as well as elderly people who are unable to move to
physical stores for purchasing required products.
Design principles
First thing that user wants from the mobile application is that it is easy to use and there is
no complex controls so that they can enjoy their shopping with comfort. Hence, the design has
been prepared with user friendly interface and proper labelling of buttons has been done so that
the users can easily make use of the mobile application.

Usability goals
The usability goals that is achieved from design of the mobile application is satisfaction
of the customers by increasing the user experience level and ease of access. The navigational
menu and proper labelling of buttons will help the users to easily operate the mobile application.
User experience goals
The user experience goals that is achieved from design of the mobile application is
flexibility of users and interactive user interface for easy access to the services and products
offered by the Local Farm shop. The user interface has been designed with pleasant look and feel
so that the customers get attracted and easily understand the purpose of each buttons of the
mobile application.
Positive and negative influences of the design
Positive influences
 Customers can easily login to access the online services and register themselves
directly while placing their order.
 Customers can easily purchase products or book the restaurant as per their
requirement.
 Simple and easy to use interface that is it is user friendly.
 Features every services offered by the Local Farm shop.
 Satisfaction of users as the products in menu are divided according to their
category.

Negative influences
 No images of products is shown due to which customers are unable to get a view
of the product.
 No description is provided for products which makes it difficult for the customers
to make a decision of buying the product.
 The users have to visit the menu or home page if they want to go back which
increases complexity of the users.
 Customers are unable to provide feedback as no feedback form is designed so that
customers can reach or convey their concern to the Local Farm shop.
 No review on products can be given by the customers which may lead to
dissatisfaction of customers and loss of brand reputation.
Reasons behind recommendation for this app
The design of the mobile application has been prepared focusing upon the exact look and
feel of a real world mobile application. Every feature and functionality that will be provided by
the mobile application for Local Farm shop has been embedded within the design. The elements
and components being used in the design has been properly organized as well as labelled so that
the users can easily understand the function that is performed by that component. The designed
mobile application is best suitable according to the requirements of Local Farm shop as it
features every products and services being offered by the business so that the customers can avail
their services sitting in their home.

3. Conclusion
The design of the Mobile application has been prepared such that it is able to fulfill
requirement of the Local Farm shop as well as the customers. There may be some flaws within
the design but it has been designed to user friendly and has been presented in an organized
manner so that users can easily understand every functionality within the mobile application.
Hence, the mobile application design is suitable for meeting the business requirements of Local
Farm shop and satisfaction of users. The practical development has to be carried out considering
the usability goals and user experience to ensure success of the mobile application.
