1.Identify obstacles to coordination in a supply chain?
The obstacles to coordination in supply chain are-
Incentive Obstacles: incentives when offered to different participants, in a supply chain , will
lead to the increase in variability and leads to the reduction in total supply chain profits.
Operational Obstacles: the actions that will be taken n the time of placing and filling of orders
will lead to the increase in inconsistency, by making ordering in big lots, which leads to the high
lead times,and the shortage of gaming (Kabra,2015).
Information processing Obstacles: when the information in terms of demand will be distorted ,
then it will lead to the increase in the variability of orders in the supply chain.
Pricing Obstacles: the pricing obstacles will be taken place when there are price fluctuations in
the forward buying, which will influence the quantity decisions on the basis of lot size.
Behavioural Obstacles: these obstacles take place when there is a lack of trust in the
opportunities, efforts are taken place in case of duplication and the lacking information is there in
terms of sharing the actions .
2.1 When does it make sense to use multi-drop routes? When are single-drop routes better?
Multi drop route plan is used in optimizing the use of the complete fleet in the whole operation,
by saving time and money by planning complex scenarios in an easy way, if the number of
locations of depots will change. (De Abreu,2015)
Single drop route plan is beneficial in the case of small fleets, in which the use of fewer vehicles
is used in assigning a stop. The single drop route plan is always used on the basis of least cost in
the overall operation.
2.2 Did you need to keep a safety stock of inventory in facilities to buffer against occasional
disruptions in deliveries? How big is that safety stock?
Yes , we need to keep a safety stock of inventory in facilities to buffer against occasional
disruptions in deliveries. The safety stock will be maintained at that level, that if the stock
reaches at the below point, at the same time a reorder must be made to bring it back to the
normal level of inventory.
2.3 When you reduce amounts of inventory in the supply chain can you use smaller
facilities and thus reduce facility operating costs?

For reducing the amount of inventory in the supply chain yes we will use the smaller facilities
like reduction in the labor cost, will focus on increase the efficiencies and productivity, by the
optimization of resources.
