1. Benefits of Intelligence driven prosecution
Intelligence driven prosecution helps to form essential insights into the criminal activities
that take place in a given area. Crime data management becomes easier and there is readily
available data in case any criminal activities take place. This helps the police department to take
necessary actions in just the right amount of time. There are several benefits for crime fighters
and the general public due to the implementation of this type of prosecution. Apart from
capturing crime data, intelligence driven prosecution helps to identify the criminal activities on a
map. This helps the police to identify crime hot spots and take necessary actions in the given
area. Intelligence driven technology can help reporting, managing and preventing crime easier.
This means that it not only benefits the crime fighting teams but also creates a platform where
the crime fighters and the general public can work together.
2. Problems posed by the approach
The major problems that this approach poses however is the fact that the database often
have names of people that are not engaged in violent activities. In the city and many other cities
many people are arrested daily on false suspicion. Meaning that a lot of people that are identified
through the database system are not actually supposed to be caught for the crimes that the system
has been built to address. This creates a significant misbalance in the system. There are even
teenagers that are caught for petty offences. Hence, for crime fighters a major challenge becomes
identifying the main culprits that are responsible for the larger number of crimes that take place
across the city. In the city more than 100 thousand people are caught every day.
3. Management organization and technology issues
