INTRODUCTION
The collaborative working and inter-professional working in health and social care has
become vital and important to provide and facilitate improved quality of care which is associated
with collaborative working of individuals from different profession (Mælan and et. al., 2020).
The current assignment is based on Barnet Hospital which is a district general hospital that is
situated in Barnet, in North London and managed by the Royal Free London NHS Foundation
Trust. This report comprises of a discussion about the key concepts that are involved in
achieving successful collaborative along with discussion about the issues that arise from inter-
professional working in health and social care.
Key concepts involved in achieving successful collaborative working
The collaborative working is mainly related and associated with working together as a one
team or partnership working which covers various ways through which a group of people or two
or more teams and organisation work together. Thus, it is essential to have proper coordination
and effective communication among the team members to ensures a successful and better
collaborative working. Further, the key concepts of a successful collaborative working consist of
cooperation among team members, autonomy, proper accountability and responsibility along
with effective communication and coordination among directions together with mutual trust and
respect for each other (10 Simple Ways to Build a Collaborative, Successful Work Environment,
2021). Beside this, establishment of a clear team goal is also vital to ensure that efforts of all
employees and team members must work towards common direction for accomplishment of a
specific target. Apart from this, leveraging strength of each member along with fostering an
improved cohesion and interaction between team members is also vital concept to foster and lead
a successful collaborative working.
Proper bifurcation of work and task among team members on the basis of their personal
strengths and weakness is also an effective way to foster successful collaborative working by the
way of motivating each employee to shine and perform there assigning roles in a more efficient
and generic way (Andersn, and et. al., 2017). Beside this, on the basis of practise seen within
Barnet Hospital in north London, it has been analysed and observed that the strong leadership is
a most vital and key concepts which is involved and plays a crucial role in achieving successful
collaborative working. A strong and efficient leadership is required to effectively motivated all
