Project Background:
Brexit refers to the UK’s decision on June 23, 2016 which is a referendum for leaving the European
Union. Finally, on 24 December, 2020 EU and UK struck a provisional free trade agreement which is
lead out to ensure that two side needs to follow the new trade regulation which comprises of tariff
and quotas on transferring of Goods. Thus, implication of Brexit has prevented a no deal agreement
which would is leading a significant impact and also damaging the economy of UK. It has been
observed that the Britain's reservations about the European integration, along with its unique form
of historical position within the Europe which create stance of remaining less integrated than other
EU states. Therefore, this historical position and integrated relationship are the one which laid the
groundwork for the potential that Britain would decide to exit the bloc which is later on created and
lead to concept and agreement of Brexit. It has been observed and analysed that a significant impact
is lead out by Brexit in the efficiency level of UK’s economy along with transportation and relation
with EU and other counties of world. Thus, current investigation is lead out to evaluate concept of
Brexit along with analysing how the Brexit affect the Freight Transport on the road.
Rationale for selection – importance and potential impact of the strategic project for an organisation
or business sector.
The selection of current strategic project based on the concept of Brexit along with analysing how
the Brexit affect the Freight Transport on the road is vital and important for the Transportation
business sector of UK as it lead efficient information about the challenges created by the Brexit on
freight transportation industry. Further, a vital understanding about the concept of Brexit and its
main challenges and issues is also provided by current project along with overall impact, lead out by
Brexit on the performance and efficiency level of economy of UK particularly on Transport Industry
which support better understanding and knowledge level. Apart from this, selection of current topic
also met personal interest and educational background of the researcher which also ensures and
would lead out improvement in managerial and other interpersonal skills.

Literature Review:
Identification of the key aspects of the business literature (e.g. Corporate Social Responsibility) to be
underpin the study. This review should briefly cover the main ideas and business practice that will be
considered. It should locate a sample of the some of the main sources and identify key critical issues
that might arise. –
The concept of Brexit is basically comes from the words British Exit and is an abbreviation of Britain
Exit which refers to the decision of United Kingdom to leave the European Union. Thus, the concept
of Brexit comprises of new process of negotiating trade deals along with having significant impact on
citizen registration rules, borders, etc. Further, with respect to the information provided by Lin,
P.H.S., 2021, it has been determining that many challenges and issues created by the Brexit which
comprises of the fact that many UK special deal has been binned. Apart from this, it has been
analysed that withdrawal of integration is also a challenge lead out by Brexit and would also have to
been face discrimination being outside the Eurozone along with bloc of deeper Eurozone integration.
Apart from this, new trade relationship and no more budget contribution from EU are also some of
the main issues created by Brexit.
Beside this, on the basis of information provided by Morphet, J., 2021, an analysis has been
made out that the Brexit has adversely affected the Freight Transport on the road by the way of
limiting trade and creating stricter trade regulations. An analysis can be made out that the EU and UK
were considered as the largest trade partners and around 40% of UK’s trade catered from EU. Thus,
leaving EU would have led to lower trade and transportation between EU and UK because of higher
tariff rates along with enhanced non-tariff barriers to trade which significantly lead an adverse
impact on the freight transport on Road.
Further, as per the view point of Reilly, M., 2021, overall an adverse and pessimistic impact
is lead out by Brexit on the performance and efficiency level of economy of UK particularly on
Transport Industry as it has been analysed that Brexit accounts for reduction of 2-2.5 % in GDP.
Beside this, it has been also the Brexit referendum results had reduced national British income by
0.6% and 1.3% which is presenting the negative and adverse impact of Brexit on economy of UK
which also leads to reduction in trade and transportation through stricter trade policies and tariff.
Further, according to the opinion Danov, M., 2021, of some effective ways and vital strategies that
could be adopted by the Fright transport industry of UK to mitigate and overcome the challenges
created by Brexit comprises of meeting the new set trade and transportation provision. Leading and
having international driving emigrants for UK drivers is a significant impact to mitigate the risk of
Brexit through leading improved trade across various countries through a certified and authenticate
driving license and other documents. Further, having proper ECMT International Road Haulage
Permits is also suggested for fright transport industry to effectively mitigate and overcome the risk of
Brexit which allows and permits easy transportation for driving through the EU and EEA countries.

The aim of current dissertation is, “To evaluate about the concept of Brexit along with analysing
how the Brexit affect the Freight Transport on the road. A research project on transport industry of
UK.
Research Objectives:
Identify 3-4 objective outcomes from the project in terms of what the project seeks to achieve for the
organisation or business sector. These objectives should reflect outputs not tasks to be completed and
should emphasise the areas for improvement to business performance the project will concentrate on.
The research objectives which are set out for current investigation are listed and provided as follows:

the Fright transport industry of UK to mitigate and overcome the challenges created
