Article 1: Australia’s Slowing Economy: how should the government and Reserve Bank
respond?
According to the author, Gerg Jericho, the employment rate in Australia is continuously
declining. The above mentioned article provides a brief overview of current economic condition
of Australia and provide a view about how government and Reserve Bank should act on this
condition1. The author asks 3 professionals about what needs to be done to control the recession
rate of Australia. The unemployment rate has raised to 5.3% to 5.0% in August2. The
government has taken measures on the fiscal side while Reserve Bank controls the monetary
aspect. Beside this, RBA has reduced the cash rate but the growth rate of inflation is still on a
low scale3. The author raised different questions to three different economic experts named

Stephen Kirchner, Brendan Coates and Emma Dawson. The author asked that is RBA has the
right to introduce the greater financial interventions by the government. On this question,
Stepehen said that any company should maintain a proper economic cycle by developing proper
production and supply chain4. Emma said that company should develop effective monetary
policy that will help the firm to maintain effective monetary transactions among all the suppliers,
dealers and other stakeholders. Brendan has said that in order to maintain the proper balance
company should maintain a proper infrastructure and economic cycle. For this inflation, the
economic growth and financial budget of the company are at risk. Thus, it not only affect the
economic and financial aspects of the company but also put a negative impact of the social
environment of Australia.
Article 2: Activists are using the climate emergency as a new legal defense to justify law-
breaking
Climate emergency has become one of the major threat on different nations. Canadian
government and different political parties has made different strategies to address this problem
of climate emergency5. It has been noticed that the rate of floods, land erosions increased. The
main reason for this climate change are the emersion of different harmful gas, high pollution rate

and increase in global warming6. This put an adverse effect on both the environment and human
civilization. Effective measures should be taken into action to control this threat of climate
change. Canadian government and other political activist have taken measures based on legal
sides. Different laws on emergency defense has taken into action. Canadian government has
established new system including triple capacity oil pipeline to save the climate and atmosphere
from the adverse effect of oil contamination7. In the year 2008, Greenpeace protestors of UK
have painted drawings on the chimney of British power station. This action has performed as a
protest against the pollution created by the British power station. Thus, it can be said that the
above mentioned article has discussed about different legal actions done by different political
parties, Climate change activists to save the climate from the adverse effect of pollution created
by different industries and firms8.
