Introduction
The international tourism is a multi-million dollar industry that provide popular leisure
activities to the people across the world. In some of the countries across the world, tourism is the
backbone of the economy because tourism directly impacts the culture, social, economic and
educational sector as well (Weaver & Jin, 2016). The international tourism strengthens the
relation with other countries. The aim of the paper is to show the development of international
tourism sector since 1950 with the help of four platform of Jafari and two platform of Macbeth.
Discussion
Jafari’s platform
The Jafari’s four platform includes knowledge, adaptancy, cautionary and advocacy.
These platforms have contributed towards sustainable tourism across the world. The advocacy
platform refers to demonstration of tourism as an operational trade and industry development
strategy that provides occupation and earnings. This platform helped the countries expand its
international tourism sector for employment opportunities and monetary benefit. The cautionary
platform explains the negative aspects of the tourism industry and tells that it is one of the reason
to destroy the environment and the society. The adaptancy platform criticises the cautionary
platform and says that the tourism can generate economic benefits without harming the society
and the environment if any alternative form of tourism can be implemented. The four platform
defines tourism as ideal industry that also have sustainability benefit for society because this
industry is smokeless (Edgell Sr, 2019). These four platforms have emerged and is continuously
contributing in the development of international tourism since 1950, and exist in the industry by

Macbeth’s platform
Macbeth has suggested two platform for sustainable tourism namely sustainable
development and ethics. He argues that these two platforms are the fifth and the sixth platform
after Jafari’s platform. One of the major outcome arises due to his platforms is the rise of the
sustainable tourism. In this context, five issues have been identified in the international tourism
sector. First, it is tourist centric, second, it focuses only on the destination places and ignores
international system that includes tourism, third, it only includes the ecological issues and
ignores other magnitudes of sustainability, fourth, only motivated by the organisations that
presents sustainability and fifth the technical description best accomplished through the
formation and execution of exceptional practice rules and strategies and is not integrated into
other activities (Korstanje, Mustelier & Herrera, 2016) . These all platforms have been adopted
internationally and is also supported by the government so that countries can contribute towards
sustainable tourism. These platform has enhanced community knowledge about the developing
through sustainable tourism.
Conclusion
From the above discussion it concludes that the platforms proposed by Jafari and
Macbeth has very mush contributed towards the enhancement of tourism industry. These
platform have taken this industry in practising sustainable tourism. By practising these concepts,
tourism will have magnificent impact on the global economy. The international tourism will help
in boosting relations among the nations. Sustainable tourism also will enhances the GDP growth
