Fact sheet: International tourism system TOKYO (JAPAN)INTERNATIONAL VISITORS Tokyo is the capital city of Japan and one of its 47 prefectures. The 23 wards show the population of 9.2 million but the metropolis has a population of over 13 million. The country has emerged as a center of the world economy and culture (Japan National Tourism Organization, 2018). The cultural side of the place reflects that it is well known because of numerous museums, theaters, cuisine, festivals. Along with this, there are numerous attractive places where tourist likes to visit. The place consists of a number of attractions which are mostly not missed by the tourist. Moreover, the place is considered as the modern city because of its attractive infrastructure and design. The country has captured the title of world's most expensive city. According to JNTO, the predicted numbers of the tourists in the last 3 years are discussed with the help of given chart which shows that there is a rise in the number of tourists (JTB Tourism Research & Consulting, 2018). KEY ATTRACTION OF TOKYO In the month of July to September, 12.4% of foreign vistors used accompodation in private homes. Approximatley 75.1% toruist stay in hotels and 18.2% tourist stay at Japanese Ryokan Inns. The visitors generally belongs to France, Singapore and Australia. Accomdatio n The major key attractions of the country are Tokyo Disneyland, Sumo, Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Disney Sea, and The Senso- Ji. Along with this there are some other places which include The Imperial Palace, Ginza District, Ueno Park and Zoo, Asakusa and the Sensō-Ji Temple, National Museum of Nature and Science, The Meiji Shrineand many others (Demetriou, 2016). Accommodation in Tokyo Tourists like different places to visit where they can actually find different options to stay. In Tokyo, there are numerous options for accommodation which include Camping, Hotels, Couch surfing, overnight buses, Homestays, Capsule hotels. All these facilities are available in Tokyo at reasonable prices along with this most of the people enjoy the accommodation option of camping and hotels (Erin, 2017). THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF TOURISM ON GDP Tokyo is the metropolitan government who newly declared that production ripple effect produced by the tourists increased by 6.0% years on the year to 12,012.7 billion JPY in 2014 with the prediction of 515 million visitors (+0.5%) (Travel Voice, 2015). The consumption of the tourism in Tokyo is approximately 5,550.9 billion JPY in total it is +5.8%.
