a. Differentiate between focus groups and other forms of data collection, such as surveys
and interviews?
In the latest business world, every business organization is trying to implement the most
recent business strategies to ensure that these strategies come into the benefit of the organization.
There have been different data collection methods in organizations before like surveys and
interviews in organizations before, but in the latest times, the business has been strategizing the
data collection methods as well. This newest strategy of implementing innovative data collection
methods is the implementation of focus groups. The differences between focus groups and other
data collection methods can be stated as below:
Similarities between Focus Groups and Other Data Collection methods like Surveys and
Interviews
The use of different processes and procedures in the focus groups and the phrases used in
both data collection methods are quite similar. Just like a focus group, additional data collection
methods like surveys and interviews also depends upon the location, accessibility and the
equipment used for conducting the data collection method.
Dissimilarities between Focus Groups and Other Data Collection methods like Surveys and
Interviews
Focus groups mostly deal with a lot of people. The more people involving the focus
groups, the more would be the detail, and the more would be the value of the information. Data
collection methods like the interviews mostly are confined and focus on the lesser number of
individuals for the data collection methods.
