INTERNET OF THINGS IN HEALTH CARE
Blog
Week 1
Internet of Things have been one of the ever-evolving technology. Acceptance of this
technology has been very high. With the acceptance of the technology of IOT, the technology
is being used in regular purpose of an individual. Health care has been highly benefitted. This
ensures the fact that IOT is used in a huge manner. With the benefit of using IOT in the field
of Health Care the basic issue that are present will get mitigated. Deployment of IOT helps in
better communication process. This includes the fact that the management of the project will
get maintained as per the completion of the treatment of the patients.
Week 2
The benefits that are sent as per the usage of the IOT in the sector of health care are as
follows: -
1. Remote Patient monitoring: remote patient monitoring has been affecting the treatment of
the patients in a positive manner. Remote patient monitoring is also called Telemedicine.
2. Electronic Health Records: Electronic Health Records are the main advantage that are
gained from the application of IOT in Health care.
Week 3
Issues present in the enactment of IOT in health care are: -
1. Data Security and Privacy issues: Data security and privacy issue is considered as one of
the major aspects that affects the functioning of the project.
2. Integration of the appliances: Integration of appliances that are used in a collaborative
manner for completion of the project.

3. Data overloading: Data Overloading is one of the major issues that is present in the
functioning of the data overloading process.
Week 4
Application of IOT in the field of health care are as follows: -
1. Reducing of emergency room wait: with the implementation of the IOT health care system
direct meeting of the doctors’ need has been decreasing.
2. Tracking patients: Tracking of patients are also one of the major applications of the
implemented Internet of Things in health care section. . In case of emergency this process
helps in better commencing of the project.
3. Enhancing drug management: Tracking of the availability of the drugs are also considered
as the main aspect that affects the treatment of the patients.
Rationale
Title:
Project type: Review based
Problem domain
Errors in treatment of patients has been one of the major concerns in today’s treatment
process. Due to inefficiency in the treatment process patients have been incorrectly diagnosed
by doctors. The main reason of this inefficient treatment is because there is a communication
gap in between the doctors and the patients. Increases cost of treatment has also been
affecting the common people. Due to this increase in cost the main issue that is present is that
most of the patients cannot afford the regular basis treatments (Catarinucci et al 2015).

INTERNET OF THINGS IN HEALTH CARE
Visiting doctors and paying their bills in a regular manner affects the patients financially.
Despite the fact that the patients used to meet the doctors in person but there are a lot of
issues that are present in this process. The min issue is that the patients needed to wait for
meeting the doctors. Sometimes this degraded health of the patients (Yeh 2016). Getting
appointments from doctors are also a difficult task. Storing of data of each and every meet
with the doctor also acted challenging. In case the patients had the previous data, doctors had
to start the check up from beginning which was very time consuming. Disease management
was also inefficient as the spreading of diseases are not very well understood without proper
data analytics.
Purpose and justification
With the help of using IOT in Health Care sector, better administration of the
problems stated above can be performed (Wu et al 2017).
With the help of IOT, the doctors will be updated with the data and will be having
access to the data all the time.
Usage of IOT in healthcare will facilitate them in proceeding with the treatment
process. This is one of the most important factors that will help in providing proper
and efficient treatment to the patients (Amendola et al 2018).
With the help of using of IOT in health care the cost that is incurred in treatment will
also decrease.
Patients get a better experience.
The main reason of this better experience is due to the fact that they need not wait in
doctor’s chambers or hospitals for getting their treatment done.
They can rather seek their treatment through he digital platform and can stay back in
their respective homes.

The data regarding the patients are loaded in the Intelligent Wen enabled PoE
Gateway. Data regarding the Access controls, HVAC are also connected to the PoE Gateway.
This information is sent to PoE switch (Moosavi et al 2015). Through the platform of WAN,
the data is sent to the broadcasting database and other servers. Through the platform of
WAN, the data is distributed among the Web Clients as well (Elhoseny et al 2018).

Methodology
The information is collected from peer reviewed journal articles. The data that are
collected are authenticated and sources are also provided in the system. With the help of the
data that are collected the main advantages that will be present is that the collected data will
be highly authentic in nature
Research method(s)
The research methods used are both qualitative and quantitative. Secondary
qualitative research is performed in the first place. With the help of the secondary qualitative
research, the proper understanding of the entire system cab be performed. Better
understanding of the project can be done with the help of the basic terminology
understanding. This hints to the circumstance that the understanding of the basic
terminologies of the project will be well understood. This is one of the major aspects that will
provide better management processing to the system. After gaining proper understanding of
the basic terminology primary quantitative research is perfor4med. With the help of the
primary quantitative data analysis, acceptance of the technology among the users of this
technology is measured.
Data collection
The data that are collected is with the help of the survey conduction. After the survey
conduction the main benefit that is achieved includes better understanding of the project. This
clues to the datum that dispensation of the project will get performed as per the data that are
collected from the survey.

Data Analysis method: Qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis are used for completion
of the project. With the help of the Qualitative data analysis theoretical data is gathered and
analysed. After completion of qualitative data analysis, quantitative data analysis is
performed.
Ethical Issues
The ethical issues are as follows: -
The survey will be performed on a random sample population of employees
Data security after implementation of Internet of Things will be an ethical issue as
privacy of data will be at stake.
Compliance Requirements (Workplace, Industry or Government regulations)
The appliance that are present in the organization are well tested as per the rules and
regulation. The compliance requirements of the process include use of Medicare Access and
CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act (HIPAA) (Gope & Hwang 2016). These 2 processes will be beneficial in the conclusion
of the compliance of the IOT in health care.
Expected outcome:
After completion of the project it can be expected that the medication process will get
better.
Data of patients will also be well maintained. In case of data getting lost physically, a
soft copy of the project will be stored with the hep of IOT.
