INTERNET OF THINGS
1.0 Introduction
In last few years, there have been constant evolutions of newer technologies that have not
only provided the solution for the complex business problems but also make the life of the
consumers more easy and convenient. This is an era of automation where routine works are
getting automated and becoming highly efficient. Internet of things (IOT) is one such technology
that has quite promising future in the business world as well consumer culture. It is also the main
theme of the Industry 4.0 which refers to new standards for manufacturing industry (Feki &
Kawsar, 2013). However, this technology is not yet mature and has lot of unanswered questions
that is delaying the pace of its full fledge adoption. But this is the case with every technology and
every new thing before it becomes a part of mainstream adoption. The objective of this report is
to discuss the Internet of Things in my home dwelling. This report is based on the eight key
devices in my home setting.
2.0 IOT and Home Network
Most of the IOT enabled devices make use of mobile Apps and these apps
have personnel and confidential data and there are regulations in various countries that data of
the citizens of the country cannot be stored outside the borders (Guarda & Leon,2 017). The
general issues in smart homes would include privacy, security and availability. My home
network can be discussed as below:
