3. Troubleshooting steps
The problems that were faced during configuring the devices being used for designing of the interface are
represented as below:
Determining the correct interface
It is an essential for any device configuration to identify the appropriate interface. Hence, it was a major
problem that occurred while designing the network configuration.
This problem was resolved with the proper knowledge of commands being used in Netsim. The interfaces were
identified with the help of “show interfaces” command that lists the various interfaces being associated with
any device.
Ping through PC to the defined interface
The devices being configured can be checked with the help of ping with their IP address. So this issue also
occurred during the test run of this network as some devices did not respond to the ping correctly. From this
issue, it was being identified that the devices are not configured properly.
This problem was resolved with the help of designing proper IP addressing schema prior to configuring the
devices. The IP addresses of the various interfaces in each device was checked carefully and subnet masking

was also checked for confirmation of proper connectivity within the devices connected to each other in the
network.
