INTRODUCTION
It’s within Griffith University's handbook guideline that students be given the opportunity to a
field learning session though having external internship programs in their various fields of study. I was
privileged to undertake my internship program at the Agape Outreach Inc organization. For the period
that I got attached there, I had an opportunity to learn a whole lot of social skills that I believe has
energized my focus towards using my professional expertise not only to have personal sustaining but
also to impact positively the less fortunate in the society (Chreim et al. 2019).
In conjunction with the Agape Outreach Inc organisation, I had the opportunity to take an
active part in the planning and development of sustainable housing projects for the homeless in the
Tweet Heads region. This project helped me in gaining experience of working on professional projects,
advancing my skills and as well as hiding to the highest calling of being of service to humanity by
supporting the needs of homeless communities within the region (Coates et al. 2019). Being part of this
community for the period I was there has helped me develop and enhance my designing and planning
skills as well as the practical application of architectural developments in line with the common
objective of providing a home to the homeless within n the region

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE INTERNSHIP
Being that I’m an international student, this internship was the best thing I have done since I started
my studies here in Australia; I have had the opportunity to learn the dynamics of the lifestyle of the
beautiful natives of this wonderful land Australia. Some of the notable milestones and outcome of my
engagement with the Agape outreach Inc organization are as follows
As the founder of Agape Outreach Inc would say that true happiness lies when one gets to directly
positively impact the life of the one who needs that help most. Going by my lifestyle, most of the time
we don’t fully get to use soul power in being of service to others who’re in need (FORCE, 2016). By

volunteering to work with the organization has significantly rejuvenated my inner peace and spiritual
happiness, owning the feeling of others and being part of the solution to their problems has boosted my
self-esteem and generally changed my scope of humanity
One of the fundamental principles of architectural practice is to have a vast understanding of the
geographical coordination and orientation of the region within which you exercise your
professionalism. It’s through interaction with the agape community that I got to learn and appreciate
the diversity of the Australia people. During my time at Agape, I had to travel to other social
community centers as we were making analyses of determining the best structural design for these
people and interacting with people of different classes in the quest to source sponsorship and funding
for the tiny housing project for the homeless.
Through the internship at agape Outreach Inc, it enhanced my understanding of the involvement in
upholding human rights even in my profession as to how best I can critically think to manipulate
architectural skills to impact human beings through a positive impact on the environment by
influencing socio-cultural and micro-level ecosystem. These aspects have empowered my designing
capability as a town planner.
I have had an encounter and the real actual feeling to deal with a real client and the technicalities
involved developing a plan and structural designs that meet the client’s desires and specifications. The
internship gave me an opportunity to learn the multi-skills that contributes greatly to the real outcome.
While making housing plans and designs have learned the market skills, giving me an advanced
experience on that exactly is the market demand in terms of structural designs (Young, 2017).
Working on the Tweed heads housing designs has enriched my understanding of the Australian
region. Through this have learned that Queensland house planning rules are quite (Clarke & Parsell,
2019) different from those of New South Wale town. Again of the things I won’t forget about working
with Agape Outreach Inc is the exposure of working with non-profit organizations, have learned the

pro bono working architecture field. By working with Agape outreach foundation and daily interaction
with members of the community and other stakeholders has sharpened my one on one engagement
with the client through communication techniques and how best to approach a client.
One outstanding milestone of the entire period was the smile on faces of these vulnerable people
after the completion of the tiny housing project (Kaleveld et al. 2018). They would now have the
privilege of good and sustainable houses that came as a result of shared love among the well-wishers
(Xie, 2019), the founders, and volunteers who dedicated their time resources and energy to ensure that
this homeless community obtains homes now.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, the main reason was to understand the real-life application of the various
theorems learned on campus and incorporate them into an actual project. Agape Outreach Inc in
conjunction with Griffith University gave me an opportunity to have a real-life experience in the field
of architecture. Though I was a volunteer to the Agape Outreach Inc projects that saw the completion
of structural units for the homeless community in Tweed head region, have gained more than I have
delivered, right from awakening the humanity in development in my socio-economical skills, vast
understanding of Australian topography, importance of upholding human rights, etc. in a nutshell I
would say it was worth being an intern at Agape Outreach Inc organization. Australia.
