CASE SCENARIO
As working in NHS as a social care worker there is a need to provide care and support to the
patient with a specific need. During working there is a need to provide my service to a patient
who was facing a mental health-related problem and having depression, the patient has attempted
suicide by cutting his hand. The patient family member took the patient to the hospital including
his wife and 20 years old son. The patient needed emergency service due to cutting his hand.
This leads to creating an emergency where his family took him to the hospital. A patient needed
to get effective care along with treatment which should be provided collaborative treatment
which includes different healthcare professionals like nurses, psychiatrists, counsellors, and
healthcare practitioners. The patient has lost his job recently due to the impact of COVID where
the organization needed to short their number of employees. This has created a high negative
psychological impact. Losing a job in a COVID situation, it leads creates no opportunity to get a
similar type of job. This has made some financial pressure to carry his family forward with
maintaining their quality of life. This continuous thinking made him sick and not able to get
through this situation, which leads to creating the risk of getting depression over time. Here,
healthcare professionals need to work as a team where each professional should provide better
treatment through their specialization and help in promoting better and improved health. The
patient was not able to move out due to the impact of COVID it created no way to get a new job
which can be done by staying at home. These simultaneously lead to creating the situation of
depression in the patient and attempted suicide. When a patient was taken to the hospital, the
emergency department has provided some care and treatment which are effective to get better
care services to improve patient health. There is a need to establish relationships among
healthcare professionals that can help in performing well in improving patient health. Here,
healthcare professionals should perform and take care of their values and principle by
maintaining their duty of care.
There was needed to provide better care and support to the patient with moral support. Here,
healthcare professionals established a multidisciplinary team in which many healthcare
professionals were needed to get involved in this team. Here, nursing staff, me as a social
worker, psychiatrists, and healthcare practitioners were involved. This was the team that was
established to provide better mental health care support with medical assistance which can be
helpful to get treated and achieve good health. Here, the healthcare practitioner provides the

treatment, and the nursing staff had the role to take care of patient health and ensure health
improvement. Here, I have the role to ensure about fulfil the necessary need are fulfilled for
better health. After getting treatment psychiatrists have the role to provide therapy by identifying
the reason and help to get rid of depression. After proper treatment patient needed for

INTRODUCTION
This essay aims to deliver critical reflection regarding scenarios that can lead to providing
better and more effective use of inter-professional practices that allow working together with
other healthcare professionals to focus on individual patient health and allow to get better care
which can influence effective response towards the delivery of healthcare (Connaughton et. al.,
(2019)). Inter-professional practices (IPP) refers to the process of shared communication and
informed decisions making which can help to provide better and more effective responses
through using skills and knowledge. In this, there are many professionals either from the same
department or from other agencies who get involved to ensure better and more effective health
improvement. There is a need to work collaboratively which needs to learn some skills where
effective communication can help to improve better and more effective role in the delivery of
services (Naccarella et. al., (2019)). Through working as multidisciplinary team, there is need to
consider different act which may include Health and Social Care Act 2012, Care Act 2014,
Children Act 2004, Working together to Safeguarding children 2018, SOVA CQC essential
standard and others. This can also have related healthcare professionals work collaboratively for
the delivery of better and more effective healthcare services. In this, there is a need to learn about
the working together with other healthcare professionals or with other agencies to provide better
and more effective healthcare services which are associated with taking care of effective
response and allowing to learn about using skills and knowledge collaboratively to deliver better
health improvement services (Azizoddin et. al., (2020)). In this essay, there is a discussion about
the use of team working skills with maintaining the confidentiality of information which are
related to the case scenario. There is a discussion about the importance of inter-professional
practice and supporting services. There is also discussion about the values and duty of care (Das,
(2020)).
MAIN BODY
Inter-professional practices are effective and involve healthcare workers from different
professional backgrounds which can allow them to get better care and delivery better healthcare
practices including patients, their family members, and other healthcare professionals either from
their healthcare agency or from a different agency. Through applying the inter-professional
practice, it includes better and effective delivery of healthcare serviced which are associated with

taking care of patient health and should perform in such a manner that can lead to create high
impact on the better response. Here, the reflective model can help to provide a better and
effective response towards the delivery of better and effective responses which are related to the
working and can help to show the response which includes providing better reflection about the
scenario. Here, the Gibbs model is used to reflect the scenario and the activity along with the role
of the healthcare professional in delivering better care services (Karam et. al., (2018)).
While working as a care worker, I was called to attempt a patient who was facing depression
and had tried suicide attempt which is one of the serious cases of mental illness where the patient
has a risk of life. There, another healthcare professional was also involved in getting better care
and support to the individual which allows them to get better care support. Here, it was needed to
work collaboratively allow to for the delivery of different healthcare services which are
associated with the delivery of a better and more effective response to improve the health
improvement for the patient. I have observed that patient is cutting his hand which is the
evidence that patient needs proper care and support is needed which can help assure about
improving the patient health. I get also the part of the inter-professional team where other team
member was nursing staff, healthcare practitioner, and psychiatrist. These were also involved in
providing care to the patient where healthcare practitioners and nursing staff have the role to
provide medication and treatment of the injury which has been caused due to cut (El-Awaisi et.
al., (2020)). Here, I have the role to ensure about helping and provide better care to the patient
and ensure safety which helps to ensure that patient should not try suicide again. A psychiatrist
has also a role to provide a better and more effective psychological theory that can help to
improve the patient health and provide better support to get over depression. I have observed that
there is some healthcare professional which can help to improve my care services as a social care
worker. Here, I have collected all the personal information about the patient which can be needed
by the psychiatrist to deliver better and more effective therapy and allow to make decisions
accordingly. Here, through inter-professional practices, I have the role to take care of patients
and collect all the relevant information which can be effective to provide better and effective
response toward delivery of better care and support to deal with the situation of depression
(Rodriguez-Villa et. al., (2020)). Here, through using the inter-professional team and working
collaboratively, it has the aim to deliver better and more effective collaborative healthcare
services which can allow to improve patient health and provide quality of health to live

effectively. here, it is needed to take care about the values which should be taken into
consideration when making decisions accordingly. Through working collaboratively, I was able
to provide better delivery of care and support that enable me to help in deciding on the delivery
type of care support that can help patients in that stage of life. Here, I have also done
professional accountability which allows performing duty of care where I have the moral and
legal responsibility to take care of patient safety and their wellbeing. Using my inter-professional
skills which allow me to use my team working skill to effectively communicate and deliver
better support to patient with depression and to improve their mental health. Here, I needed to
effectively use a different skill that allows me to deliver proper and effective care support to
patients to ensure safety including maintaining their dignity and respect through informed
consent for providing care services and psychological therapy. I have also the responsibility to
take care of confidentiality which is one of my responsibility to provide better care for patient
information that should not be shared with another individual (Guraya et. al., (2018)).
I have faced difficulty in dealing with the patient family during the collecting of personal
information that can help to take care of the patient health and make a better decision for
psychological help. In this, I have faced different issues like providing proper care for patient
health and ensuring the uptake of meals. This also leads to creating a high impact on the delivery
of better-improved health. During the collection of information, it was hard to get all the
personal information that can help to provide the reason for the suicide attempt which is a sign of
mental illness or depression. As a social worker, I have also worked collaboratively with the
psychologist where I get some information and instruction which allow me to improve my
specifically (Rohilla et. al., (2020)). I need to work collaboratively with other healthcare
professional where it can allow to provide better and effective response towards the care of
patient and allow to work effectively that can help in achieving better health. This helps me to
improve my care in a specific area which can be effective to deal with the patient's health
situation. Here, getting instruction and information from the care service and external support
can help in the mental health-related therapy that allows me to improve my support services.
Working collaboratively with a healthcare practitioner to take care of patient mental health. I
have evaluated that patient is getting better after starting the talking therapy through the
psychologist. This can allow me to make my work role easy where I need to get communicated
with the patient more effectively and help and support in performing different activities (Moye

et. al., (2019)). I need to take care of patient health where I should improve my service delivery
and use the communication skills to share the health information with the patient which is also
effective to make feel better to the patient. This positive aspect also provides some motivation to
the patient and allows them to feel much better where it creates the situation in improving patient
health (Lloyd, (2018)). I have also evaluated that the healthcare practitioner has taken care of the
cut and the nursing staff has provided proper care to the cut wound which helps the patient to get
improved medically. I have also evaluated that getting better care and support, allows me to learn
about effective care that is effective in dealing with proper care support to the patient in
performing the daily activity and due to improvement through taking psychological therapy, it
allows to improve the depression and patient participate in his care and support (Reger et. al.,
(2020)).
I have analysed that as a social care worker I am doing well which allows me to take care of
patient health which helps to improve health and allows me to get better care in reducing the
effect of depression. Working collaboratively with other healthcare professional and with other
agency allow us to fulfil the demand of care need which help to improve patient health. I have
also learned to use my skills and knowledge at an optimum level which allows improving my
learning and helps me to improve the quality of service delivery. Psychiatrist knowledge helped
me in taking care of effective responses that help to improve my quality of care and support that
enable me to deliver quality service and help the patient in performing different daily activities to
improve the mental illness (Giuliante et. al., (2018)). I have also analysed that I need to take care
of maintain the patient dignity, values, and respect by involving them in treatment through
informed consent. I have also analysed that through taking care the effective response through
considering the duty of care and following the legislation which needs to follow as a social care
worker. Here, I also need to follow the Care Act 2014, Health and Social Care Act 2012, and
others that are effective to provide better care for patient health. Here, health and social care act
includes the involvement of clinicians which can help to improve the accountability along with
patient voice (Roberts et. al., (2021)). It also includes the improvement in quality of care and
provide regulator for promoting economic. Through following the Care Act 2014 which can help
in ensuring about the arrangement of service which can be effective and help in reducing
development of need for support and care for improving patient better health (Braye et. al.,
(2019)).

I have concluded that working together allows me to provide better care and support to the
patient which was effective and I learned that to deliver better and effective care and support
services there is a need to provide better service delivery which is effective and allows to provide
better care for the health improvement (Van Warmerdam et. al., (2020)). Here, I have also
learned that I need to respect patients and maintain their dignity which can allow men to work
ethically by following all the legislation and following the duty of care. I have also concluded
that communication skills allow me to get better and more effective support in caring for patient
health. There is also a need to provide which allows me to get a better and more effective
response to improve patient health care services through working collaborative that can allow
improvements to patient health (Mitchell et. al., (2022)). This can allow working effectively with
ensuring care and effective response that can help to deliver better care and support services for
improving patient health. I have also concluded that working in inter-professional practices can
allow effectively improve patient health and provide better care to them. There is also a need to
provide better and more effective can lead to creating a high impact on the delivery of better and
effective responses towards improving patient mental illness (Pentaris et. al., (2021)). I have
learned about collaborative work which enables me to apply my knowledge and skills which are
associated with taking care of effective practices that can help to provide better learning to deal
with providing collaboratively work. Here, in such type of situation, I can use this learning which
has helped me to learn about new skills and apply those to provide care to mental health patients
with serious issues like suicide attempts (Jones et. al., (2018)). Here, I also need to take care of
the patient's daily activities which are needed to perform for a better and effective response
towards the delivery of better and effective service that can help in supporting the patient life. I
have also concluded that I need to improve my better and more effective responses which are
associated with taking care of patient health. I have also concluded to provide better and more
effective support that can help in dealing with proper care (Kelly, (2020)).
I have got the experience of working within an inter-professional team was working as a
social care worker that can help in dealing with better care services which are effective to deliver
effective care service and support that can help in recovery and allot improve better health. In the
future, if I need to deal with such a condition, then I will use my experience which can allow me
to deal with better and more effective care and to work differently to deliver better care for
health benefits. In such type of situation, I will work differently which can help me to effectively

deal with such a condition. There is also a need to ensure proper care. Next time in such a
situation, I will use my all knowledge and skills effectively to provide proper and quality care
and support (Widmann et. al., (2018)).
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion, to deliver effective care service, there is a need to use an inter-
professional team that can allow taking care of effective care. There is a need to deliver quality
care services and support that can include inter-professional teams where different healthcare
specialists work collaboratively to deliver better and more effective care and support to improve
patient health. Applying inter-professional team working can help to deliver better and more
specific care to patients for their improved health. There is also a need to improve my care
services through improving communication skills that can help to improve the quality of care and
support. There is also a need to deliver better care services. There is also a need to take care of
confidentiality which allows for delivering better and more effective care. There is also a need to
respect patients and maintain patient dignity. In this essay, there is a discussion about the
importance of an inter-professional team that can allow providing better care and treatment to the
patient for their health improvement.
