AI Summary
This document presents a project proposal, likely for ITC 571, focusing on the intervention of emerging technologies in alcoholism treatment among youth. It identifies alcoholism as a significant issue and proposes using modern approaches like telecommunication, online social support, and distress tooling to enhance existing treatment methods. The proposal outlines aims to develop a technology-driven intervention scheme, a monitoring system, an emotional support link, and analytical techniques to influence alcohol consumption rates. Key contributions include considering socio-demographic background, support systems, addiction treatment provisions, psychosocial factors, and coping strategies, with a focus on maintaining emotional support. Structural equation modeling is suggested as a framework for the research.

alcoholism treatment among youth
Current issues:
A chronic liability on youth of this generation is alcoholism. This brain disorder has been
characterising due to loss in consumption limits, compulsion in seeking alcohol and emotional
traumas.
Currently drugs are prescribed commonly to patients allowing them to supress their urges to
consume alcohol. Several behavioural management social services are available providing life
teachings and aiding in treatment of alcoholism.
Thus to address this issue and provide improvisation with modern approaches are proposed to be
used such as telecommunication, online social group support, distressing tooling, etc.
Existing solutions:
Mobile based universal prevention
CD-ROM based primary care
Technology based intervention modules at home for monitoring
Interventions using therapeutic contents
Aims:
To develop an intervening scheme using technologically popular means to treat
alcoholism.
To produce a well-managed monitoring system to keep track of health supervision.
To deduce a link that can help support the patient emotionally for enhanced results of
treatment
To draw analytical techniques that can influence the consumption rate of alcohol
among youth.
Contributions:
The three parameters aimed to be considered for this research work as contribution are:
Socio-demographic background support system
Addiction and related treatment provision
Psychosocial factors are in need to be addressed
Coping strategies.
Emotional support flow must be maintained while measures are undertaken. Structural equation
modelling is proposed to be used as framework for this research to be conducted.
