Concept of truth telling: Truth telling can be defined as the activities which are done at
various levels such as local level and state level along with the national and international levels.
Such as official apologies and memorials along with the public arts and many more. This usually
happens in the community for example charges and museums along with the educational centres
and many more. In context of Australia, after more than parliamentary procedures to examine the
manner forward on the reform and recognition in the constitution and aboriginal people across
Australia weather at Uluru in May 2017. As per the Uluru statement, people from Australia were
invited to enter into a truth telling which is complemented by the development of their own voice
and procedure of negotiable settlement and making of agreement. It is basically an opportunity
for aboriginal people in order to record the evidence from past actions and share their history and
heritage along with the culture with the broader society. Truth telling about the history does not
only reflect on the colonial conflict and disquisition but it also appreciates the strength and
residence of aboriginal individuals and cultures and moreover it also involves in the actions
mainly in the international levels (Behrendt, 2021).
Importance of truth telling to the future of Indigenous and nonindigenous people in
Australia: Indigenous people can be defined as the aboriginal people and native people along
with the first people who are culturally ethnic groups which are native to the specific place.
Moon over the non-indigenous people have totally opposite meaning as compared to indigenous
people. The importance of truth telling to the future of indigenous and non-indigenous people in
Australia is that both the individuals and the group who are living in Australia as a whole. Which
means that it is essential in order to continue the ongoing procedure of reconsideration and
healing in Australia.it has enabled for the Australians to identify and recognise the wrongs of the
past and their impacts on the native people who are living in Australia. Moreover, it has
highlighted the historical acceptance that is fulfilling the reconciliation to occur which states that
historical acceptance cannot occur without telling. It holds the aboriginal people for the truth and
their relationship which is totally dependent on justice and self-determination and that is why it
has a great importance for the people of Australia whether they are indigenous and non-
indigenous (Prout Quicke and Green, 2018).
Difference between settler colonialism in Australia from colonialism: Settler colonialism
can be defined as the different type of colonialism which operates with the help of replacement
of indigenous people in an invasive settler society and develops the assorted Identity. Settler
