A cloud based accounting information system provides anextremely safe and secured method of storing any type of financial data or information. The literature review describes about the basic concept of cloud-based accountinginformation system. The review outlines a brief description of the overview of cloud computingwith the benefits and challenges of cloud based accounting information system adoption invarious business organizations (Laudon and Laudon 2016). Relevant recommendations are alsoprovided in the review.DiscussionOverview of Cloud ComputingCloud computing is the technology for transferring data or information in the safest andthe most secured way (Simkin, Norman and Rose 2014). It helps to enable the users to all typesof shared resources like applications, servers, services and computer networks. Cloud computingcan be easily distributed with extremely less effort of management. It allows all types ofenterprises and the users to process and store the data in a privately or publicly owned cloud.This makes the accessing of data absolutely reliable and efficient (Grabski, Leech and Schmidt2011). Cloud computing depends on the resource sharing for achieving the economy of scale andcoherence. The functions of cloud computing are as follows:i) IaaS and PaaS: The main function of cloud computing is that it provides virtualinfrastructure and virtual platform to the clients (Jadeja and Modi 2012). These services areknown as Infrastructure as a Service or IaaS and Platform as a Service or PaaS. ii) Various Types of Clouds: Cloud computing provides four types of clouds includingthe private, public, hybrid and community cloud.
