Introduction In order to complete a degree of a school, college or a university, it would be essential to complete the minimum requirements of the general education. The general education may be in the form of subjects or training or a combination of both. The thesis statement is that the skills learned in the general education courses shape the future career, as it enhances the logical skills, written and spoken language and facilitates the learners with problems solving and emotional intelligence capabilities. Thus, the work is aimed to evaluate the importance of subjects learned and the skills acquired in the general education on the lines of the career advancement in future. The work will specifically evaluate the skills learned through the subjects namely the writing, math, science, history, psychology, and statistics. As stated above, one of the major benefits of the skills learned in the general education course is the logical skills. The courses based on the lines of the subjects namely the mathematics, science and statistics are specifically designed to equip the pupils with the logical thinking. While the emotional capabilities are important in a workplace to understand and perceive the thoughts of seniors and subordinates, the logical thinking is required to rationally analyzea situation by the aid id weighing down all the potential pros and cons of the potential courses of actions. These are specifically essentially in the event of the rapidly changing global workplaces where the situations are complex. The second argument in the favor as stated earlier is that it is essential to have a command over language both in spoken and written forms, in order to advance in any form of career option. The written or the spoken communication courses that are based on the subjects of languages for instance English or others are primarily comprised of exercises that enhance the language and persuasive skills of an individual. The language and persuasive skills are further vital to send and receive information in the workplace while interacting with the peers and managers (Chilver, 2016). Lastly, the subjects like psychology and history render an individual with the qualities of conceptual understanding of the internal and external environment of himself or herself. The increased emotional awareness aids in the collaboration, motivation and confidence. In addition, an individual is more culturally diverse and accepting which is again the prime need of the employment in the event of globalization (Ang & Van Dyne, 2015).
