INTRODUCTION
Leadership and management are considered as two different things but their roles and
importance are considered to be equal in organisational context (Kim, Kumar and Kumar, 2012).
This project defines the meaning of leadership and management scope as well as their value in
organisational structure. There is a practical overview and experiences are described in this
context. There is separate descriptions are defined in for leadership and management. How the
operations and functions are operated by effective leadership skills and methodology with
required support of management presented in this report in practical manner. Both the
management and leadership remain involved in attaining the goals and objectives of
organisation. Differentiation of leadership and management subject to administration and
operations of organisation is elaborated.
TASK 1
What is involved in being a successful leader?
Strong image of business and organisation depends upon successful leaders and managers
of organisation. Leadership skills are required to accelerate the level of business and organisation
by motivating and leading people. It is seen that most of the organisations are suffering from best
leaders and managers who could lead and manage the operations and functions of organisation. It
is recorded that in present sixty five percentage of multinational national organisations facing the
situations of successful leaders. By fluctuating the ratio of leaders and managers make unstable
the balance of organisation and loses the confidence level of people in organisation. Scope of
leadership and management has become vast and now, it is considered as an art, science and
methodology of better operations. What skills should be exist in the nature and behaviour of
person to become a successful leader and managers are described below:
Perspire
Being connective and familiar is one of the prime virtues which should be presented in
the nature of leader. It is an initial requirement that leader must be interactive with each
employee, staff members, managers and higher authorities. Interactive skills are used to form and
support effective team formulation, plans and strategies subjected to aim and objectives of
organisation (Gayle, Tewarie and White, 2011). These skills are helpful in making effective
professional relations and personal relations too. Being interactive with employees and staff
members help in getting real mind set and thoughts of employees in respect of organisations. It

also helps in finding out unreachable and unspeakable problems as well as conflicts by effective
interaction with people of organisation. As much leaders will understand the mind set of
employees subject to work as much they will get ideas of better team formulation and operations.
Show grace under pressure
Capacities and abilities of leaders are evaluated in challenging and miserable situations of
organisation (MacBeath, 2011). There are different type of challenges come across like inflation,
competitive strategies down fall of market, unstable market demands and supply, undecided
policies and strategies these are the situations in which the efforts and abilities of leaders are
evaluated. Successful leaders come out through these situations. These scenarios help in
identifying the reactions and actions of leaders that how they deal with those situations and
circumstances. It is evaluated that how leaders manage the people of organisation in these
situations and put their efforts to maintain the internal environment of organisation.
Integrity
It is one of the qualities of leadership which are required to presented in behaviour of
leader. This quality indicates towards honesty, clear representation and fair practice (Hendriks
and Scheerens, 2013). Leader must have this quality because they are the main spoke persons
who remain connected directly to management department and senior authorities. It is the duty of
leaders that they present fair and clear of operations in front of senior managers. What are the
leading decisions are taken and how much work and completion of work has been done must be
straight to the point in functional reports. As per employees and staff point of view leaders must
clear the challenges and situations to employees so that they would become aware with the real
situation of organisation.
Motivating spirit
This is the virtue of leadership which defines the spirit of continuous working and efforts
towards goals, set aim and objectives of organisation. It is very important that manpower of
organisation keeps working continuously and effectively towards desired results and outcomes.
There are different kinds of situations and challenges fall upon business which affect the mind-
set and behaviour of employees for continuous working (Doh and Quigley, 2014). Successful
leader always bind up its team in single row and keep motivating them by working together and
tackling the situations through getting combined efforts. By providing appraisals, promotions,
recognition and appreciation, it tries to build up the confidence level of employees in

information regarding plans and strategies. There must be a fair and clear presentation of plans
and project presented in front of teams and employees. Best and effective communication is
evaluated by getting same response and feedback from employees which were presented at the
initial stage of giving information. Communication system must be fluent and smooth in
organisation for flow of clear and fair information in departments and management level of
organisation.
Vast image in respect of goals and objectives of organisation
Crisis, downfalls, challenges and problems are the part of business formation. Leaders
have to prepare for every task and challenges and keep a clear vision to lead organisation in right
direction and path. Successful leaders always look out for each and every small or big issue and
challenges to form and design a vast image of business (Griffin, 2013). It indicates the new
opportunities and future advantages by implementing new tactics and methodology of team
formulation.
Relational approach of leadership- It refers to a model on leadership and which focus
on idea that the leadership effectiveness do with an ability and also capabilities of a leader to
develop a better and positive relationship in an organisation. Under this different components are
includes such as purposeful, inclusiveness, ethical etc.
Contextual Approach- Under this, leaders adjust their own sale on the basis of needs.
Under this, there is no perfect or single style which is used by leader. There is leader adopt the

Can good leadership be developed
It is one of the aspect which remain in dilemma which is “whether leadership could be
developed or not ?”. it is estimated that leaders born with the leadership skills and it is god gifted
abilities and specialities which can not established and developed by external efforts. Today
scenario has been changed and business operations have taken vast phenomenon in
organisational context. There are different segments and plans has been executed by which
leadership skills can be developed in the nature of normal person of employees. Potential and
hard work are two factors which are responsible to adopt and implement the skills in nature.
There are ten segments are described under which are helpful in developing leadership qualities
and skills in any human kind
1. Improving integrity
It is one of the natural techniques which is used to improve and build up honesty
and fairness in actions and tasks while working in organisation (Lloyd-Walker and Walker,
2011). It is studied that fair and clear representation of informations, tasks, project plans and
tasks helps in creating healthy and effective human relations in nature of employees. Apart from
it, this exercise helps in improving the integrity of person which helps in being honest,
responsible and capable to perform the tasks in effective manner.

organisation. Team formations and bifurcation are the prime work which is done
by the leaders of organisation. I have to go through with the vision and mission
statement of organisation. It is require to find out effective and responsible
employees and workers for making a strong team. As organisation wants to
introduce new marketing policies and plans to attract customer interest and
increase the brand name of organisation in UK.
