INTRODUCTIONSport analysis is an approach to understand and measure the various aspects of a sport,Every sport has its own structure as well as controlling organisations or authorities. The presentreport is in context to Baseball, a popular sport in Australia. The report will identify structure ofBaseball in Australia, along with the organisations or clubs responsible for delivery of the citedsport. Furthermore, the report will describe brief history and cultural importance related toBaseball. In addition to this, the assessment will identify roles of volunteers and government inthe selected sport in Australia. Part 1: Sport analysis A. The sport and its structure Baseball is generally considered a summer sport traditionally, which means it gets startedin spring and ends in autumn. However, this phenomenon has changed many times in Australiafor various reasons. One of these reasons was that baseball I Australia was mainly considered asa sport for cricketers in the off-seasons. But later when this sport became popular it was playedby people more often during summers. Baseball became popular at every level of skill and age invarious areas of the world. Even the kids at the age of 4 and 5 plays a simple form of Baseballwhich is called as T-ball. Baseball is a sport which is combined of various mental and physicaltalents. Many Baseball players are specialist such as the pitcher who is very well trained to throwthe ball accurately to the hitter as well as also making the ball hard to hit(Bernardina and et.al,2016). Some players are expert at fielding whereas some are good at hitting the ball for homeruns. It is a combination of team play and skills that make the game interesting and complex.Baseball is different from other major sports such as football and basketball, there is no clock inBaseball like in other sports. Structure of Basketball Statistics inn Australia – Baseball in Australia healthy acceptance and participation as thefollowing statistics indicate – 35000 registered senior and junior players.In excess of 17000 children play in various recognized competition. Of the 118 primary schools surveyed nationally, 60% has T-ball sports consisted in theirAussie sports programs. Government statistics list T-Ball as the top participatory sport within primary schools. 1

Based on national statistics, over 500000 individuals attended ABL games in 1993- 1994,over 1 million individuals watched baseball on television in the year. Australian Baseball Federation – The ABF or Australian Baseball Federation is the main legalbody in Australia which controls Baseball for every level all over the country. The AustralianBaseball Federation is one and only representative of Baseball in Australia is generallyrecognized by the following bodies - 1.Major League Baseball2.The International Olympic committee3.The Australian Olympic committee 4.International Baseball Federation 5.Australian sports commission The Australian Baseball Federation includes seven association from seven Australian territoriesand states which are mentioned below - Baseball Northern TerritoryBaseball Queensland Baseball western AustraliaVictoria Baseball Association Australian capital Territory Baseball Association South Australian Baseball League New South wales Baseball League Each of the above mentioned State Baseball associations have roles and responsibilities for thegrowth or development of baseball in their specific state in Australia for example all levels ofJunior Baseball and Senior baseball along with the various competitions played in that particularstate(Marsh and et.al, 2015). The Australian Baseball Federation, both in its partnership with theseven state associations and its own right coordination, assists and directs the growth ordevelopment of Baseball in Australia, it also has responsibility for the below mentionedprograms - 1.International competition2.Rookie ball 3.T-Ball and Yard-Ball 4.National Teams 2
