Artificial intelligence is the science of making machines intelligent, specially the
computer systems (Artificial Intelligence. 2018). The use of AI has started in 20th century. In
1956, John McCarthy stated the term Artificial intelligence, it demonstrated the first running AI
program at Carnegie Mellon University. From then till now its use has increased a lot and in
today's era it has become more popular. Some people think that AI is necessary for the
development of humanity and some thinks that it will be a curse to the humanity. The thesis
statement of this topic is “Is artificial intelligence a threat or an aid to the future of humanity?” In
this essay, a discussion is made on the topic of Artificial intelligence by which its pros and cons
can be identified. This discussion will help in identifying the threat and aids of artificial
intelligence to the humanity.

“Supporters of AI think that it can help as work faster”. Since computer systems
helps in solving complex tasks within seconds therefore the use of computer systems has
increased from the past decades (Boutilier and et. al., 2015). The advancement in technology has
increased a lot because of the use of computer system in each and every field. In the modern era,
there is no other field left in which use of computer systems has limited. The use of computer
systems has increased in finance, education, auto-mobile, meteorological department, defence,
animation etc. There are many computer systems which can work faster in comparison to the
normal computer systems. The supercomputers are the example of it. These types of computers
are used in meteorological department, defence etc. The use of these computer systems has
increased because these systems can work even more faster. The recent developed fastest
computer system in supercomputer is TaihuLight (Rahwan and et. al., 2015). This is a Chinese
supercomputer which is manufactured to be the fastest supercomputer in the world. The use of
supercomputers is also in the field of predictions. The use of predictions can include the natural
disaster, earthquake, Tsunami etc. These are the areas where AI has played an important role in
the saving of humanity. The use of AI not only limited to earth it has also expanded its feathers
in other planets too. The AI has reached on Moon, Mars etc. The super computers can work
faster as compared to the humans. They can calculate the most complex problem even in a few

in almost all the areas of world. The use of AI can be seen in today's world in the form of mobile
phone in which the sensors of touch is an example of AI. The sensors can feel the touch of a
human and then operate accordingly. There are a lot of area in which AI is discussed to take over
to the humans. When machines will take to the work of human, it will be a threat to the humanity
because it will reduce jobs etc. There are some examples such as ATM machines, which has
replaced humans from their work (Steels, L. and Brooks, R., 2018). These are the areas in which
the use of AI should be increased but in almost all the departments use of AI will get the
humanity replaced by robots. When computers get the power of thinking they can be dangerous
for the humanity because the feeling of love, humanity, affection etc. will be in the machines
than the use of humans will be limited in almost every field (Rahwan and et. al., 2015).
