• There are different departments within an organisation
assist in the attaining organisational goals and objectives
in an effective manner and within given time frame.
• Similarly in the present context of Costa Coffee, there are
some departments help in accomplishing goals and
objectives of the company at the competitive marketplace.

Collaborative Work practice
• Human resource & Marketing: It is said that human resource department and
marketing department both are inter related with each other.
• Marketing and Research & Development: In the context of marketing and R&D
department, it has been said that both the department perform their task in an
effective manner with the help of equal contribution.

chain that is adequate spread across 31 countries of both
developing as well as developed market.
Weakness Within UK, Costa Coffee is the second largest company in
terms of coffee industry and Starbucks comes under first
rank. But there is a huge gap between the profitability of
both firms like Starbucks has expanded its operation in 70
countries whereas Costa Coffee is still in around 31
countries.

External Factors
• Political: It include the intervention of government, political stability as well as
rules and regulation that can significantly affect the business performance.
• Economic: It represent the different economic conditions, interest rate and
foreign exchanges based on which the firm need to function otherwise this can
affect the long term profitability of firm.

customer that can influences their buying pattern.
• Technological: Due to the development of technology and adoption of latest
