INTRODUCTION
Clinical psychology is considered as a term which make involvement of various
processes such as understanding the causes, investigating ways of preventing it and also
promoting the well-being of the individuals keeping their focus on personal development as well
(Lee and Hunsley, 2017). The report is about understanding the role of psychologist along with
discussing their weekly routine. Also, it includes various challenges faced by them in the
workplace and how they manage balancing both, life and work.
Role of a clinical psychologist
The actual role of a clinical psychologist is that they meet with the patients, had a talk
with them so that they can identify the root cause of the problem. It is important as well because
they focus on identifying the root cause so that they can completely exclude the diseases and
related issues. So, it can be considered that they assess, diagnose and then include ways for
providing efficient amount of treatment to the one suffering from the issue. Also, along with
providing treatment and preventive measures, they also play a very important role in promoting a
healthy and happy well-being by including various ways that can help in modifying or improving
the quality and standard of the individual's life. Clinical psychologists also investigate all the
psychological, mental, behavioural issues of every specific person. By making involvement of
various procedures and treatment therapies such as therapeutic procedures etc. they make sure to
provide the person, the best quality treatment. Also, a clinical psychologist makes sure to have a
proper decision making session with the client as in that the psychologist wants to know what the
client knows about the disease and how can they think it can act controllable. After discussing
the processes and treatments together, the psychologist also keeps interacting with the client on a
regular basis to check whether the treatment is proving effective or not. Some other roles of a
psychologist are defined as under:
Assessment
Psychologists have usually been provided with different wards that are specialised
enough so that they can very calmly talk to their patients and can analyse the root cause of the
issue so that they can focus on treating it effectively. Also, there are various types of patients
such as some suffering from mental pressure, some from emotional etc. Thus, the role of a
psychologist here is to make a proper assessment so that the treatments can be provided in a way
that can seem comfortable enough by the patient itself. The talk should also be in a way that it
