1.0 Introduction
Today use of advance technology has become one of the most important thing which
further helps in increasing the productivity of almost all the tasks. Sometime it is important to
use technology to understand the current trend and efficiency of any thing so that whatever
actions are required to be done can in order to improve the overall task and management of those
tasks (Hu and et.al., 2016). The main purpose of this report is to show and highlight all the
benefits of using a technology in order to increase the efficiency and productivity of the
management of Greenhouse Sustainability Ltd. This report will include all the current
greenhouse emission trend and current situation in United kingdom. Then Discussion of three
MS office application software will be done and them lastly latest three recent technological
advancements will be disused which will help the company to reduce their carbon footprint.
2.0 Current Greenhouse emission trend and situation in the UK
Here, according to the Excel Spreadsheet which contains the current data of greenhouse
emission of Greenhouse Sustainability Ltd. will be discussed.
From the above table it is clear that the maximum greenhouse gases emission is done in
Energy Supply sector i.e. overall 14.3 percentage. High and low emission is calculated as when
the emission of greenhouse gases is 15 percent or more than 15 percent it is high emission
otherwise it is low emission. So, according to the table emission of all the greenhouse gases in all
the sector is less than 15 percent however in energy sector it is 14.3 percent which is not low
either. It has also been seen that that the overall emission of greenhouse gases is decreasing
continuously. It has also been seen that the maximum emission of Greenhouse gasses was in year
1990 that was almost 794 total greenhouse gasses per year. The lowest greenhouse gases
emission was seen in year 2016 which was 467 greenhouse gases per year. If the currency trend

and situation of Greenhouse gases in united Kingdom is seen then total number of greenhouse
gasses per year is decreasing continuously.
3.0 Microsoft office Application Software
Microsoft office is a client software and service developed by Microsoft which includes
MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook. All these packages of
Microsoft office are used for different purposes and one of the best thing about these packages is
that they are compatible with other programs as well (Wilson, 2018). It is one of the most
common and best software used today by many companies today. This software is used in many
organizations as it makes human work easy and mistakes free. Each package has unique and
important features that are used by many companies and helps them to increase their efficiency
and productivity. These packages can be used by Greenhouse Sustainability Ltd. to enhance their
productivity and management of the company in terms of Greenhouse gasses.
Three applications of Microsoft office software that can be used in order to increase the
productivity and efficiency of the company are:
3.1 Microsoft Word
MS word is a kind of word processor which was developed by Microsoft. It is one of the
best word processing application developed by them which is compatible with almost all kind of
software's. There are many built-in features which makes it more valuable such as it has inbuilt
dictionary which helps in editing and identifying users typing mistakes. It has in built templates
where heading, font size, paragraph, designs etc. are already defined which helps the user to
compete their document easily and appropriately. It also supports various kind image format that
users want in their word file. Bulleting and numbering can also be used in writing and making
documents.
3.2 Microsoft Excel
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet developed by Microsoft that is mostly used for doing
calculations, store numerical or textual data, analyse data etc. basic operations of MS Excel is to
do all kinds of mathematical calculations, organize or manipulate as well as arrange data in
numbered rows and in alphabetical orders. It consist of built-in formulas which can be used for
carious kinds of calculations (Rayat, 2018). In Microsoft Excel also helps in updating schedules,
display current date and time. It also helps in analysis and extraction of required data with the
help of it's inbuilt formulas and functions as well as with the help of graphs, tables etc. Another

best feature of Excel is that in this in this user can create any number of finite spreadsheets as
well as can add any number of finite columns and rows.
3.3 Microsoft PowerPoint
Microsoft PowerPoint is also another presentation program application of Microsoft
Office developed by Microsoft. It is also one of the best and compatible application of MS
Office which can be used and attached with any kind of application or software. It was
developed for users or clients to make and present their presentations so that they can easily
present their content in front of others. It consist of various features which helps in making
presentation easy and attractive. It provides clients with different types of themes for
presentation which can be modified in which ever way users want. Users can also record their
voice, notes for all the slides of the presentation according to their convenience and not only this
they can even add animation to all the slides which makes the complete presentation more
attractive.
4.0 Three recent technology advancement helped companies to reduce their
carbon foot prints
Today advancement in technology is increasing continuously which has helped many
companies like Green Sustainability Ltd. in various ways such as it can help them to reduce their
carbon foot prints (Singh and et.al., 2015). This advancement in technology is continuously
increasing and is continuously becoming environment friendly however all the technologies
comes with some limitations but are efficient enough to be used within organizations for
different purposes. Today most of the companies are using various kinds of technology and are
becoming dependent upon them. Here, discussion related to all advance technology will be done
which can be used by companies to reduce carbon footprints.
4.1 Technology Advancement 1: Blockchain
Blockchain has helped many companies in reducing their carbon emission as it plays a
significant role in balancing the climate change which eventually helps in reducing carbon
emission. Many companies are today using Blockchain in order to reduce greenhouse gasses to
reduce global warming. It is useful all those companies who uses manual method to evaluate and
control carbon emission (Acquaye and et.al., 2017). It is useful in many ways as it helps the
companies to reduce their manual inputs, reduce time consumed for calculations, provides
security to the data stored in it in other words in this data generation, cleaning, processing and

utilizing is done in order to calculated and reduce carbon footprints. It also provides transparency
and reduce the overall operational cost of the companies. However, it also comes with a
limitation which is that it can help companies in calculating their carbon emission but cannot
help in limiting carbon emission. It also has no standards which helps the company to measure
their footprint according to the government standards.
4.2 Technology Advancement 2: Footprint manager
It is a cloud based reporting tool which is used by organizations to measure, manage and
reduce carbon footprints. It helps the companies in reducing carbon footprint in many ways such
as it makes it compulsory for organizations to generate carbon reporting, helps the companies in
reducing their 20% of electricity consumption, track and monitor carbon emission done by the
company on daily basis. This also helps the companies to comply their reports according to
various kinds of carbon trust standards. However, it has some limitations as well i.e. it is quite a
costly software which all the companies cannot afford.
4.3 Technology Advancement 3: Footprint Expert
It helps the companies to generate and measure fast carbon footprints for all of their
products and services which helps them to analyse and reduce their carbon footprints. It helps the
companies to enter all the primary data quickly and easily (Zhao, Zeng and Yuan, 2015). All the
data entered and saved within the system is continuously updated and checked according to
carbon footprint standards on regular basis. Provides guidelines to reduce the carbon footprint as
per the guidelines and rules of the defined standards of the government. One of the main
limitation of Footprint Expert is that it is one quite costly and provides a licence of one year only
i.e. it is needed to be renewed every year which increases its operational cost.
5.0 Conclusion
For the above report it has been summarized that there are many applications of
Microsoft Office which can be used by Greenhouse Sustainability Ltd. which will help them to
measure, calculate their overall greenhouse gasses emission per year as in the Excel spreadsheet
the emission of greenhouse gasses from 1990 to 2016 has been calculated. Lastly, three
advancement in technology has also been explained which can help companies to reduce their
carbon emission.
