INTRODUCTION
• Information technology is the utilisation of computers for
storing, retrieve, transmit as well as manipulate data or
information in relation of the business or any enterprise.
• This report is based on ALDI which is retail sector
organisation founded in 1946 by Karl Albrecht and Theo
Albrecht.

ASSESSMENT 1
• Computer is machine or device which perform several
activities such as calculation.
• Processes as well as several operations which is based on
instructions given by the software or hardware program.

On the basis of functionality
• Analog computer – It is type of computer which utilise
continuous physical phenomena like electrical, mechanical
or hydraulic quantities to model the program being
solved.
• Digital computer – This computer calculations and other
logical operations with quantities represented as digits
and it is mainly in the binary number system.

On the basis of size
• Super Computer – These are most powerful type of
computer and expensive, this is the main reason for its
utilisation in special purpose.
• For instance, weather forecasting needed super computer,
animation graphics, fluid dynamic etc.

On the basis of micro or
personal computer
• Desktop Computer – It is personal or minicomputer
which can easily fit on desk. In office desktop are utilise
more and more for daily operations.
• Laptop Computer – It is also known as portable
computer because they have integrated screen as well as
keyboards. Laptops are small in size compare to desktop
