This is that study which usesystem like that of telecommunication or computers in way of storing, retrieving and sending ofinformation. This particular report will be based on retail business which is using informationtechnology tools like that of PoS, CRM, bar code scanning, UPC code, EDI, retail accounting,store traffic counter and graphic design software. So the report will be based on WM MorrisonSupermarkets Plc. which is one of the leading retail supermarket of UK and its use ofinformation technology.LITERATURE REVIEWAccording to Avgerou and Walsham, (2017)information technology is that which helpthe company to use computers in way of storing, retrieving, transmitting and manipulating dataor information. As it is not possible for the humans to store all type of data in written formate soit is important that they are using technological advancements. Thus use of technology andcomputers is very much essential so that they are able to store their data in much easy andconvenient manner. It is necessary that people are using basic knowledge related to IT so thatthey could be developing competencies within e-business, mobile technologies and projectmanagement that is helping in facilitating specialisation in certain areas. There are many changes in form of information technology which company should beusing so that they could improve their management or system in satisfying customers demandand need and for increasing sales and profits. As per the view of Piotrowicz and Cuthbertson,(2014)retail industry is that which is selling and manufacturing consumer goods with use ofmultiple channels of distribution in way of earning profits. The retailers are satisfying need andwant of supply chain which is the fact that company must be using technologies so that theycould be useful for future. It was explained by Wang, Sanchez Rodrigues and Evans, (2015)that retail businessmust be using all type of digital technology in their billing, storing, selling products andsatisfaction of customer. This is playing vital role in success and failure of organisation whichwill allow company to attract more number of customers. There are many type of informationand technology which retail sector is using and is making their work more easy and simplified.1
