INTRODUCTION
Information technology termed out as development, maintenance, use of computer
software, system and networks (Al-Qirim and et.al.,, 2018). This is mainly for the use of
processing and distribution of data. Thus, IT is commonly works for design and implementation
of computer networks in terms to data processing and communication. In hospitality industry,
technological advancement aids to facing cut-throat competition. Hotel can able to attract the
new breed of customers by integrating technological advancement in all aspects.
The present report is based on business activities of Hotel Hilton , It is located in UK and
many other places in world. Moreover, assignment will include the following things as role of
information technology in success and failure of enterprise, ethical and social issues in terms to
pertaining to running business and identifying and differentiate between various types of
networking technologies.

The advent of Technological advancement impacts and assists the growth of every
industry in present age. As per the view of Lin and Cantoni, (2018)stated that it helps in terms to
have reduction in cost, enhancement in operational efficiency and it also works as improvise
services and customer experience. Furthermore, Lu, Chen and Law, (2018) stated that
technological advancement replaces expensive human labour with technological labour. It is one
of crucial aspect that works as to have reduction in avoid service issues. In addition to this,
stated that internet has powerful impact over business of hospitality as it is vital to effectively
utilize social media advertising, blogs, online purchasing so it aids to convenience their
customers. According to the view of Navío-Marco and et.al., (2018) it can be stated that use of
technical advancement in hospitality industry has helped to speed up operations and process of
travelling to make it more enjoyable and efficient. By providing services at the better cost it
helps the enterprise to get success in market. Thus, with help of it firm can able to gain
competitive advantage by effectively utilising social media and advertisement tools. In this it can
be stated that technological advancement will not be useful in only large chain hotel but it is also
useful to the other smaller companies in the industry. Thus, innovation is one of significant
factor that helps to target the customer in market and enterprise can able to attend long terms
objectives by having enhancement in profitability and productivity.

The information technology is very important to our lives and it is also facing some
serious ethical challenges that can impact the working of enterprise. As per the view of Perera
and Perera, (2018) it can be stated that Information technology is facing major challenges and
this are lack of privacy, security, copyright infringement and also increase computer crimes. In
addition to this, Sinarta and Buhalis, (2018) stated that there are many enterprise and this all are
at the risk of becoming cyber victim on daily basis as many of firms are based on digital
network. Thus, information technology has many opportunities and it has also helped in shaping
developed countries. However, Eluwole, Lasisi and Avci, (2018) stated that developing countries
may also find difficulties of enjoying the same benefits of information technological
advancement. In order to cope up with it, the legal authorities has passed number of privacy laws
and regulated communication and by this firm also guest aware about this limitation. As per the
view of Lin and Cantoni, (2018) stated that ethical issues arises from the continuous monitoring
of employee activities and recording of security camera image. In addition to this, it can be stated
that business are dealing with number of complicated technological issues such as information
security, balancing the privacy of employees in order monitoring the employees, copyright
infringement and file sharing. It is one of effective tool that helps to carry out all activities in
effective and proficient mode. In contrary to Lu, Chen and Law, (2018) stated that strategic
information management must facilitated their business function and enterprise also works as to

access consumers and travel professionals. The work of technological advancement is to

devices and wireless internet connectivity helps to satisfy the needs of customers.
In order to meet the challenges of growing customer expectation the hospitality industry
are moving towards the technical advancement. It also enables the staff to put their focus on
guest experience. In addition to this, higher authorities of hotel will work as to strike the right
balance between technology and personal interaction. The Hilton aims for leading the charges for
keyless entry and aims to provide this service in its 2500 hotels. In future, they are also looking
forward to have facial recognition software and it will also avail to unlock the guest bedrooms.
Thus, it can be stated that technical advancement plays huge role in order to make stay as easy
and hassle free as possible.
Ethical and legal issues
The legal authorities have dramatic effect on internet and its potential development with
help of introducing new policies and limitation (Chan, Okumus and Chan, 2018). It also stated
that security and privacy issues are very significant. The ethical implication in hotel industry is
very challenging and complicated. Thus, the ethical climate of the firm derives the value to
enterprise and all system directed towards the ethical manner. The technical advancement
provides various benefits as well it also work as to hack the relevant information and security
system of hotel may get worse for some time (Eluwole, Lasisi and Avci, 2018). However,
internet providers have to be focussed over ethical matters and usage of personal data stored
within networks. In addition to this, credibility and accountability of information requires to be
secured and equal access for smaller and larger partners should be developed. Thus, due to
technological advancement Hotel as Hilton also can face legal risk due to violation of anti trust
laws and violation of privacy.

The type of network may be categorised on the basis of size, complexity, level of security
and it geographical spread (Hlee, Lee, and Koo, 2018). The Hotel Hilton uses the Local Area
Network and it spread over the single site. It is kind of wireless connection and it is usable in

order to get connection by the customers, employees and guest. Thus, the networking
technologies are many types as LAN or WLAN, MAN, WAN etc.
Findings
On the basis of above findings it can be concluded that information technologies plays
the greater role in order to have innovative changes that helps to attracts customer on large scale.
In order to satisfy the growing needs technical advancement is very crucial to meet the
consumers high expectation, interest, dislikes and this all works to deliver the unique and

It also been found that Hotel Hilton uses the day light harvesting to adjust indoor lighting and it
is based on natural light coming from outside. Thus, the sensor motion technical advancement
will be helpful as with help of it lighting can be turned off automatically and temperature can get
reduced when a room is unoccupied. In order to meet the long lasting impression and relation
with customer technological advancement brought tremendous impact and by the use of it long
term profitability and productivity can be generated. Thus, it can be stated the technical
advancement leads to get the competitive advantage and hue amount of profitability can be
generated by running smooth and flexible operations.
CONCLUSION
Based on above report it can be summarised that Information technology is kind of
business sector that deal with computing, software, hardware and telecommunication etc. The
present report is based on business activities of Hotel Hilton and it is located in UK. Thus, report
has been covered the following things as role of information technology so that success and
failure to enterprise can be determined, the analysis and discussion on the uses of information
technologies. Lastly, finding has been given in terms to the use of technological advancement.
Technological innovation and application of information technologies will be beneficial for the
hotel companies as Hilton group of hotel etc.
