INTRODUCTIONInformation technology is basically the application of computers and telecommunications tostore, transmit, retrieve and manipulate the data. Moreover, it will describe the difference between the differenttype of network technologies. At last, this report will discuss about the importance of intranetand internet in the business. LITERATURE REVIEWDetermine the role of Information technology in the success or failure of TESCOInformation technology becomes the integral and vital part of the business plan. TheInformation and communication technology has advanced various tools and equipment’s thatallows the business in performing the business operations. According to Ganzin, Islam andSuddaby, (2019) Tesco uses the email technology which allows the business in circulating theinformation efficiently from one level to another. As per the views of Secchi and Camuffo,(2019) Information technology has advanced various tools which helps in managing the businessoperations and employees within the organization. Such Technological advance includes MIS,TPS, ERP software etc. Thus all the software provided via Information and technology hashelped in the growth of the Tesco. According to Singla, Ahuja and Sethi (2019) The systems arebest used when an inventory management system is connected to the Point-of-sale system whichenhances the sales of the enterprise and thus contributes towards the successful business. AsElaborated by Ganzin, Islam and Suddaby, 2019, that earlier it was a huge complexed method tomaintain huge data in a file format which lowered the speed to access such data. As cited byTidd and Bessant. (2018) storing these data via digital versions over the server and storagedevices so this form of data can be easily available to the authorised users within the company. Ithas increased the efficiency and effectiveness in performing different functions within thebusiness.4
