INTRODUCTION
Management is the process to provide coordination of the activities of the business in
order to achieve the gaols and objective of the company. Management consists of the
interlocking functions of creating a planning, organizing, controlling and directing and
companies resources in order to achieve objectives of the polices.
This report will take Boden for this case study. It is clothing company, and they sell
menswear and women-wear both. This report will explain difference between leadership and
management for the company. It will also provide introduction of the company with explanation
of the management structure. This report will define role of leaders and manger in the company
and difference between leader and manger. In the end of this report will analyse interrelation of
their business functions.
MAIN BODY
Similarities and difference between leadership and management of the company
1) Overview of the company
Boden clothing is the UK based company who are selling their products through online
stores and mail. This company was found in 1991 and founder of this company is Jonnie
Boden, who started their business with mail orders. In the stating days this company launched
total 8 menswear and next ear they introduce women-wear. Company also launch clothes for the
children in 1996 by the Kate Borden (Bratton and Gold., 2017). After the introduction of the
children's wear Kate Bordan become the chief designer of the Boden company. Company launch
their own website for the UK people in 1999 and company expand their business in the America.
This company launch their offline shop in 2004, location of the shop was hanger lane , London.
Boden clothing design patterned and bright clothes as well as a casual basis. This companies
online website is well maintained, and they also provide free delivery over 30 dollar and
customers can return their product without paying any return cost to the company. This company
also provide 365 days quality guaranty to the customers, which show that their clothes are made
with high quality. Boden clothing is generated 90 percent of sales from online website. This
company is well managed and more than 120 employees are working in these companies
headquarter.

Leaders play impotent role in every organization because they are responsible to lead
their role and encourage employees to achieve objectives and goals of the company. Leadership
is the art of motivating other to achieve common goals. It is important for the Boden clothing to
have effective leaders in their company so company can achieve higher growth in this
competitive market (Ansoff And et.al., 2018). Manger of the company also play necessary role to
manage operation and activities of the Boden clothing. Manager helps to provide right guidance
to the employees, so they can perform their task effectively. They also understand the problem of
the employees and provide right solution to them.
Role of leader and manger
leaders and manager both plays important role in the Boden clothing. They are top
leaders of the company, and they help companies to achieve their vision and mission with the
help of employees .

Manager of the company give direction the employees, so they can perform their task and helps
to achieve companies objectives but leaders encourage their team member to achieve their team
goals they behave as a coach.

Leaders of the company make aims what they see as possible. They inspire other by
making vision into the reality. Leaders think beyond any individual do. They also activate other
team members to be a part of big achievements. Managers of the company focus on the
archiving, measuring and setting goals. They also control the situation within organization or
exceed their objectives.
Leaders take risk, managers control risk
leaders of the company are willing to try something new , even if they are having more
chances to fail (Mavin And et.al., 2016). Effective leaders know that the failure is the only way
to achieve success in own life. Leaders take risk to complete task which has fewer chances.
Manger of the company work to minimize the risk through the knowledge. They know what to
do in different situation in the companies workplace, and they know how to overcome from those
situations. Managers seek to avoid or control the situations in the workplace rather than
embracing them.

Effective leaders make good relationship with their team members. They also motivate
stakeholders so they can realize their vision. They know that how they can make more better

optimally. According to this theory success of the Boden clothing is depended on some elements
such as interdependence, synergy, and interrelationship between subsystem, So it is important
for the Boden clothing to maintain their company functions to achieve success.
Workers of the Boden clothing are most important part of the company. In the practise of
this theory, mangers of this company required to evaluate events and pattern in this company, so

Interrelationship between business function
Each and every business functions of the Boden clothing are interconnected. Some of the
main function of Boden clothing are HRM, finance, marketing and production. They are
interconnected with each other (Salmela, Koskinen and Eriksson., 2017). HRM recruit
employees for each department and provide skilful employees when any of these functions need
new employees in their team. Finance department provide cash to the every department such as
HRM , marketing and production. Without finance function no activities can run properly and
make profit. Marketing function has major role in each department of the Boden clothing
company. They can help them through the advertisement and aware customers about products
job vacancies etc. last function is production because they make final product for the company
and these products are used by the marketing team to fulfil customers demand, create profit for
the finance function, so they can show better result in the financial report, HRM recruit
employees and production department make employees understand how production department
work.
