INTRODUCTION
Management defines as an essential as well as effective business activity which is linked
with controlling, directing, planning & organising required resources, process and activities
which is needed to make sure that the goals and objectives of the company are being attained.
Apart from this, it will also ensure that there must be improvement in of all the resources among
business organisation for the smooth running of functionality (Alford and et. al., 2017). This is a
report which is based on Imperial Hotel, London, well known Star City hotels among the nation.
However, the hospitality company is facing different types of issues like Poor operating of
employees as well as increases in the ineffectiveness because of lack of encouragement.
Therefore, this is the report which covers various issues related to management along with some
effective solutions to the problems.
EVALUATION OF MANAGEMENT THEORY
It is very essential that the issue related to the ineffective performance of staff is
examined with the help of management theory which help in gaining clear and better perspective
in order to resolve the issue and improve the overall business operations in an effective manner.
apart from this, effective management theory assists in supporting the explanation of data
effectively and appropriately.
Therefore, in order to interpret the information properly about Imperial Hotel, it has been
observed that here is a specific theory which will aid in understanding the present situation of the
hotel which is known as Situational Leadership Theory. Before examining the theory according
to the case, it is said that there is different sort of leadership styles which are going to be
discussed as follows: Autocratic Leadership: It is an effective leadership style under which whole power as
well as authority of the business entity can only be accessible by few individuals. Also,
directive method is accepted by leaders which is associated with giving directions and
instructions to the employees (Loucks and Van Beek, 2017). Democratic Leadership: As per this approach, staff members are associated in the
overall process of decision making of the business organisation. Also there are thoughts
and opinions are being considered by the higher authorities while taking decisions.
