INTRODUCTION
Human resource is the association of individuals who create the workforce of the
company,industry, business sector. In narrower concept it is known as human capital, the
knowledge which the individual embody. HR includes labour, personnel associates, manpower,
individuals. As in every organisation the role of HR is significant because various activities
related to administration, Recruitment, Selection, training, preparation of salaries, making
records of attendance are perform by them. With the help of HR every organisation work with
easy flow. Human Resource Management is the approach to manage people effectively in the
organisation. It is determine for the purpose to maximize performance of employees with regards
to employer's and organisation strategic objectives. In the organisation through providing time to
time motivation Smart managers of the company make control over the employees that leads to
increase productivity and growth. By offering various monitory and non financial incentives
Human resource Team can easily motivate their employees that tends to increase retention of
workforce for long term. The organisation that was selected for the project is Morrisons. It is the
fourth largest chain of Supermarket in UK. It was introduce by William Morrison in 1899. In this
report various related topics are discuss as these are Contemporary issues faces when it comes to
people management, description of the skills & behaviour needed to be an effective people
manager. And also give explanation about HR process underpin and support management when
it comes regarding effective performance management (Lehtimäki, 2016)
TASK
Q.1. Issues face by management team when it comes towards people management?
At the time of making control when the workforce are engaged to perform, their activity.
Many issues are face by the company. AS may challenges and difficulties are come in the
journey of HR job. The management team of Morrisons generally face the problems in following
matters as these are explain with the example of theory as follows:
Adapting to Innovation: It has helped the company to understand problems solving &
cognitive style. Kirton's adaptation innovation theory provides an explanation to our
inherent differences based on how we solve problems and think creatively.
Understanding this is like getting to know other people better, once you know how

people think and behave, you're better able to collaborate with them and avoid
unnecessary conflicts. Morrisons generally face the problem related to Innovation
adaption in the working place. To overcome with the problem various initiative steps
must be taken by management team so that it can easily achieve the objectives of the
company (Thompson, 2016)
Disruptive innovation is the most important theory of innovation. It provides an explanation
regarding why established and large organisation eventually get overtaken by smaller ones and
the concept of disruptive innovation is also introduces by it. In simple words it explain that small
companies can disrupt the organisation large market by releasing new version of an offering that
appeals more to a subset of the audience. ON the other hand new technologies are released by
small companies whose quality are inferior as compare to large companies. But makes up for it
in another way like a lower price. Overtime this advanced technology will begin to improve to
handle more demanding uses ( McEntire, 2018)
Theory
Leadership Development: It is the process that helps to expand the capacity of individuals to
perform the role of leader in the organisation. To facilitate the implementation of strategies of
company throw building alignment and growing the capabilities of others. To guide the team
members properly so that they can easily achieve the objectives of the company, the leader must
be , knowledgable, talented, having excellent communication skills. To develop the qualities of
leadership in individual is not easy. Various training and development programme is conduct for
that purpose in Morrisons so that the qualities of person develop develop and highlight (Hansen,
2017)
Theory
Trait Theory of leadership: It assumes that people inherit various qualities & traits that make
them better suited to leadership. This theory identify behavioural characteristic shared by leaders.
Traits related to courage, self confidence, are the features that could lined to smart leaders. There
are so many people who have personality traits associated with leadership, There are various
individuals who lack some key traits often associated with effective leadership yet still excel at
leading groups (Hayes, 2017)
