1IoT IN FARMING Milestone 2: Introduction to the problems: One of the majorchallenges that is faced during the process of implementing the IoT inthefarmingdomainisinteroperability.EnsuringtheInteroperabilityofthehuge heterogeneity of the IoT devices used by the devices and the data with the open IoT architectures, platforms as well as the standards is a challenging factor(Kamilaris et al., 2016). Another major challenge is the alignment of the horizontal technical IoT standards with the domain-specific standards in the agriculture field. Scaling up of the usage of the interoperable IoT technologies beyond the early adoptersespeciallybythesimplificationoftheexistingsolutionsandimprovingits affordability so as to ensure the attractiveness and fitness for being used by majority of the farmers and the food companies and due to this reason appropriate business model is needed which would be suitable for the small companies along with including a systematic economic analysis of the costs as well as the benefits(Ryu et al., 2015). Another important challenge is faced during the process of ensuring broad usability in the diversity of the agriculture domain. Besides this, the development of the IoT devices for harsh environmental conditions and for the natural objects have limited the possibilities of embedding the IoT devices with the agricultural fields(Rekha et al., 2017). This challenge is mainly faced for those particular devices that are integrated with the recent technological advances. A lot of progress has been made in the process of adaptation of the more mutual technologies so as to meet the requirements of the agriculture domain. Besides this establishing a reliable and stable wireless communication in the remote area is also a major challenge and the major reason for this problem is the limited coverage
2IoT IN FARMING andbandwidth.Thedevelopmentprocessofenergyefficienttechnologiesisalsoa problematic process in the rural areas. Security, privacy and data ownership is another challenge faced by the IoT devices being implemented in the agriculture field(Bhattacharjee et al., 2017). Gathering of a trustworthy solution is very tough work for solving the problems faced by the dynamic and the complex network of the stakeholders. Structure of the report: Purpose:The major purpose of this paper is to analyze the impacts that the IoT is having when they are implemented so as to make the process of farming easier. The paper is having an aim of discussing the various IoT technologies that are used during the process of farming. Scope:The scope mainly includes the analysis of the different challenges faced by the IoT when they are used in farming. Besides this paper also discusses the previous works that have been done regarding the IoT technology. Technologies:The paper would be associated with using the technology Internet of Things or the IoT in various farming activities. Literature Review:This section discusses the various works that have been done with this technology and to show how the IoT is being used in the various farming activities so as to make the system more efficient and free of errors. Annotated Bibliography:in this section, the major understandings of the literature review is provided. Research Findings:The major findings of the literature review are noted and amongst which the most appropriate methodology is selected so as to make the system much efficient.
3IoT IN FARMING Recommendations:Further recommendations are provided in this section which would be used in order to avoid the various challenges faced during farming. Conclusion:This section of the paper would summarize all the findings of the paper and would also be providing an overview of each of the findings.
