1IoT IN HEALTHCARE Milestone 2: Introduction to the problem: There exists various healthcare devices that makes use of the IoT technology so as to make lives of the patients much easy. This devices are generally responsible for the capturing and monitoring of the data that are relevant to the patients and helps the healthcare provide to have insights of the patients without bringing them for visits. This helps in improving the outcomes and preventing any kind of complications(Subasi et al., 2018). However along with the challenges there exists certain challenges that are faced by the IoT in the healthcare domain. Lack of the EHR or the Electronic Health Record system integration with the data that is being collected. The data collected might be including the vital signs of the patients, physical activities or the glucose level of the patients when they are at their home and many more. But it is often seen that this data are not travelling to the EHR system and sometimes it is also seen that the data are not centralized and not made available to the providers easily (Laplante & Laplante, 2016). This acts as a major challenge for the IoT while being used in the healthcare sector. Interoperability is another challenges faced by the IoT while being implemented in the healthcare sector. The patients are likely to collect the various sets of data when they are associated with the usage of the various kind of medical devices. This are generally dependent upon the purpose of each device and in some cases it is also seen for the ordering physician as well. Diabetes patents might be associated with frequent collection of their glucose level so as to report back to their physician along(Hassanalieragh et al., 2015). Similar thing is done for separate medical conditions by making use of different devices. Besides tjis in many cases it is also seen that the capturing of the data done from the patients

Due to lack of wider adaptation of the adequate interoperability has resulted in the lock down of the different IOT devices in each of the individual systems ultimately leading to the loss of potential value to the rest of the team associated with providing patient care. Besides this a single IoT data might not seem to be meaningful if it is not included within the context of full health record. There exists many providers who are associated with supporting the collection process of meaningful data, however this data is only valuable if the data is incorporated along with being viewed within the context of the full patient chart and timeline(Lee & Lee, 2015). But certainly there also exists many cases where the collected data from the wearable’s and other type of medical devices stays locked in the respiratory or apps of the IoT vendors however for the physicians the data might not be associated with providing any kind of helps unless and until they are visible within the context of the patients full record. Another major problem faced by the IoT is the healthcare is the security concern. This is mainly due to the lack of common security standards and the practices which might lead to tampering of the IoT devices and data breaches. Structure of the report: Purpose:Main of this paper is to analyze the implementation of the IoT technology in the healthcare domain. The report also aims at discussing about the various problems and the related works. Which is followed by the selection of the appropriate technology so as to make the implementation of IoT more effective. Technologies:IoT or the Internet of Things is the technology that is going to be analyzed in this paper.
3IoT IN HEALTHCARE Literature Review:In this section various works that has been done previously are discussed so as to understand the technology properly and the ways by which this technology is being used so as to improve the ways of providing healthcare. Annotated Bibliography:his section lists the major understanding of the various scholarly articles that are to be used so as to conduct further research. Research Findings:The major finding of the literature review are listed in this section amongst which the most appropriate methodology is to be selected so as to make the system more effective. Recommendations:This sections of the report consists of further recommendations that can be adopted so as to make the technology become more efficient. Conclusion:This section of the report is associated with summarizing the entire paper and this would be consisting of the overview of the different kind of problem along with, the previous works that has been conducted, selection of a proper methodology so as to eliminate the problems which would be helping in increasing the efficiency of the system.
