Introduction
In the paper the analysis will be made of the video which is named as Development
methodology. This video will be discussed in brief by emphasizing on the ACS code of
professional conduct. The recommendations will also be made in relation to the last phase of the
report which will help to focus on the solution that is required to solve the issue identified in the
video.
Discussion of Video 2: Development Methodology
The Video 2 emphasizes on the discussion between junior developer and project manager. In this
the junior developer made an issue in relation to attending the call of the customer. The call
which was attended by the project manager was related with the request of the customer to make
modifications in the software that was given to the company as a contract. But the junior
developer accepted the request without taking approval from the higher authority which was the
project manager. The ethical act which was not followed by him relates with the action in
relation to the approval given to the customer about the changes that will be made from the
management side. The issue now highlight the problem of overridden the hierarchy of the
organization by taking decisions on their own. The decision also which was taken by him can
enhance misunderstanding and also affect the satisfaction level of the customer. In the video, it
has also been indentified that junior developer does not focused on the rules and regulations of
the organization and emphasized on their own decisions (Al-Saggaf, 2016).
ACS CODE OF ETHICS
It has been examined that the Australian computer security society focuses on implying the
guidelines that should be considered by the professionals so that it could be easy to maintain
honor and dignity. The code of ethics also emphasizes on creating a positive attitude of the
human which can help them to emphasize on the societal values (AlHogail, 2015).
1. The primacy of the public interest
The professionals of ICT should focus on providing the primacy of the public interest so that
personal and business interest can be maintained.
2. The enhancement in the quality of life

The ICT professionals should emphasize on the quality of life so that people. It is for the
individuals who are impacted because of the activities which are allocated to the individuals in
the workplace.
3. Honesty
It is considered as the important factor that should be present in the IT professionals as it will
positively impact the functions in the workplace.
4. Competence
The ICT professionals should act in an ethical manner which means that should consider
diligence and also should maintain competence to safeguard the interest of the stakeholders.
5. Professional development
The attitude and skills should be developed in an individual so that it could be easy to behave in
professional manner in the workplace.
6. Professionalism
The ICT professionals should behave in a professional manner by maintaining integrity and
considering the ACS code of conduct (Butler & Choo, 2016).
Issues in relation to VIDEO 2
It can be seen that the second video showcase the problem in relation to the junior developer
attitude towards accepting the request of the customer without taking any advice or confirmation
from the project manager. The junior developer has assured the customer without having an idea
that what should be the changes in the software or it is possible to make the changes. The
organizational hierarchy was also overridden by the junior developer as it has been examined
that at the time of accepting the request of the customer, the junior developer didn’t consult the
same from the project manager. The ACS CODE OF ETHICS was also not followed by him at
the time of discussing the changes in the software with the client; the principles were breached
by the junior developer in the workplace. By examining the video, it is analyzed that he was not
able to follow the ethical code of conduct such as honesty and professionalism.

The ethical framework also relates with the honesty that should be present in the associates as it
helps to manage the activities in a proper manner. At the time of attending the call of the
customer, the junior developer was not been able to maintain his honesty as he has accepted the
changes without consulting the project manager. He also ignored the hierarchy and took
decisions on their own.
The professionalism code of conduct was also not followed by him as it has been seen in the
video, that junior developer acted in an unprofessional manner. He attended the call of the
customer and accepted the changing request without having any discussion or by taking
permission from the project manager who is also considered as the higher authority. Due to this
behavior of the junior developer, the issue was faced by the project manager as the confirmation
that was given to the customer was not correct and it will affect the satisfaction level of the
customer. Also, project manager was not able to complete the assigned task within the hierarchy
of the organization (Reynolds, 2018).
Recommendations
By seeing the video, it can be recommended that junior developer should focus on changing the
attitude towards work by being professional. It is important to follow ACS code of conduct that
will help to change the attitude of the employees towards their work.
The honesty code of ethics should also be followed by the junior developer by considering the
policy of discussing the matters before taking any decisions with the higher authority such as
from the project manager.
Conclusion
It is concluded that junior developer has not focused on the principles in relation to the ACS
code of ethics like honesty and professionalism. These ethical frameworks are important to be
followed so that it could be easy to attain the positive outcome in the workplace. The junior
developer ensured the customer without taking permission from the project manager. In this he
also breached the process of hierarchy. So, to resolve the issue, it is necessary for the junior
developer to follow ACS CODE OF CONDUCT as it will help to maintain the operations
according to the set rules.
